I think it is a good idea to look ahead to the first week of the playoffs at a potential waiver wire defense. Unlike other positions defenses are heavily reliant upon match ups so your studly Titans D may not fare so well against Colts Week 14. Looking purely at matchups here are some defenses likely on your waiver wire.
Clev vs Buff (both defenses probably available, could have snow)
Den vs Ariz (while they got dismantled by Oakland, Ariz seems a lock for at least 1 turnover)
Oak vs Jax (Jax is a different team at home but the Raiders defense has shown flashes of being good)
Was vs TB (either defense maybe available. Not the greatest matchup but D Hall did just have a 4 INT game and McNabb's play has declined)
Atl vs Car (Car has shown flashes of an actual NFL offense so come Week 14 this may not be a great option)
Sea vs SF (I would imagine Sea is already owned, perhaps SF is as well. In the first meeting Sea dominated and had a great showing, how will rematch playout?)
Of all the matchups I think I am leaning towards picking up Clev or Den and will base my decision on how Den fares this week. Thoughts?
