This is a lost cause.
Did you expect anything else? Coordinating 32 people to do something like this is a little much, especially when it was just left open to anyone to sign up. You need to get people who will actually be here.

ready and waiting for the 24th pick..... our war room is asleep for cry eye.

I hate to do this to the third slot, but I'm going to be busy the rest of the day. I'll make two picks just in case - although I'd think the Jets would take Leinart. 1.05 Green Bay Packers select DE Kiawanuka - Cullen Jenkins has been a bit of a disappointment, and Kiawanuka's talent is just too good to pass up. Having him paired with KGB will be a great pass rushing duo and pose scheme problems for the opponent.2. (In case) - LB EJ Hawk While I'm not high on taking a LB this high, GB needs some playmakers on defense and this guy has shown he has the athleticism to make some great plays from the linebacker position. I thought about RB here (Maroney would have been my first choice for this team), but with free agent possibilities already and the reseugence of Gado (who's also cheap), I think the Packers need to address defense first.

I've done these before with no problems. Usually what happens is a new thread is created and after someone makes a pick, they PM the next person telling them it's their pick.I PM'd Winston btw.

With the 4th pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

MATT LEINART, QB, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

If Leinart somehow got to 4, I don't see how the Saints could pass. Leinart is a potential franchise QB, and the Saints desperately need a new start at the position. The Aaron Brooks era is clearly over, thus making QB a position of need. A guy with his success in college could really restore hope for the fans of New Orleans, so this could really kick-start what has become lagging fan support given the actions of Tom Benson.

Had Leinart not been here, the pick would likely have been A.J. Hawk, as the Saints LB core is easily one of the worst in the NFL, and Hawk would be a good fit.

This pick will be especially profetic when they move the franchise to Los Angeles (the "other" LA).

So tenn. is up right?

I love watching these Mocks...Thoughs so far:I am guessing no trading is allowed. I think Reggie Bush goes first...just don't think it will be the Texans...they have DD already. I think the Texans get D'BRICKASHAW FERGUSON at #2 and someone moves up to #1 for Bush. If not, the Texans might surprise everyone and just stick with Ferguson at #1I think the Jets could use either Reggie Bush or Matt Leinart. I don't see the Jets needing to move up and get MATT LEINART at #3 though, and Bush will be gone before then.I think SF already got their QB last year, and could use really use Reggie Bush. The problem is can the cap afford it? I am thinking no. I don't think they will need to move up and can get Bush right where they are. I think a lot will change between now and April. I think I am not sure where SF is going to draft. I just don't think they can afford another Top player right now. We will let them have REGGIE BUSH at #2 but I just don't see how SF can do it.1. D'BRICKASHAW FERGUSON2. REGGIE BUSH3. MATT LEINARTSo the real question is, who can afford Reggie Bush and afford to move up? :2cents:

I am not a real big college football fan, but my money says Donohoe trades down if at all possible to get an extra pick. This draft is real deep on O-line, and Buffalo surely needs help there. If they do draft here, it will be the best O-line availbale or the DT from Oregon or Oregon St. Sorry, not a big college fan, just my $.02

Screw this. Let's see if we can move this along...

I've seen this pick in a few mocks. Makes sense since the Bills run defense is atrocious.

7 - Buffalo Bills - Haloti Ngata DT Oregon

Ngata brings youth, athleticism and especially brute strength to the NFL. He recorded a total of 59 tackles and 3 sacks this year. He’s also batted 5 passes at the line of scrimmage. Ngata is well rounded, and he can play either role as a speedy undertackle or a run defending nose tackle.

Last offseason the Bills lost mammoth defensive tackle Pat Williams as a free agent and as it turns out they probably miss them even more than they thought they would. Sam Adams has not had a good season and may not be back and youngsters like Tim Anderson and Justin Bannan just haven't gotten the job done. Enter Haloti Ngata, who at 6-5 and 338 lbs. has a freakish blend of size, speed, strength and athleticism. In fact, there is a chance he could be gone by this point because based on upside and potential he would rate as one of the premier players in the entire draft should he come out early.

On the clock - 8 Cleveland 4-9 .505 The gator

On deck - 9 Arizona 4-9 .505 dantheman8417

In the hole - 10 Detroit 4-9 .514 bts4bkfst

DAMN, Ngata was my #1, Williams and Kiawanuka were next. If this were to happen and all three of these guys are gone than think Savage would try to trade down and get more picks for him to hit a homerun with. So lets see. as much as I want to take Maroney....The Cleveland Browns select...

Demeco Ryans,OLB,Bama

He should compliment Andra Davis well. Like I said I really want Maroney but trying to keep this realistic I think this is the best pick for the Browns if the the guys I mentioned before are gone.

I really like this pick. In real life, I'm hoping that the Vikings end up with him. Everything I've heard says he's not only a phenominal talent, but as high character guy as you'll find. Which is exactly what the Vikings need.

Dantheman sent me a PM with his pick:

Arizona - Vince Young

Vince Young is as exciting of a prospect to come along at the quarterback position in some time and even though he will likely need a lot of development and possibly have to sit and learn for a year or two at the pro level his upside and potential are just too enticing to pass up.
I think this is a "no-duh" pick. Give him a year to develop behind Warner, and off you go.

If this happened, and it could, i would take him ahead of Lienhert in a rookie draft. Not sure if thats a stretch or not but man, with those weapons, damn.

Upcoming10 Detroit godeepthreatz1 11 Baltimore 4-9 .519 Andy Dufrense 12 Oakland 4-9 .529 godeepthreatz1 (I'd rather have the Baltimore pick, since he's here gdt can make this pick)

Detroit selects Tamba Hali DE Penn State. Welcome aboard Tamba, we are looking forward to a 2006 campaign where we can stop the run and improve this defense to be playoff caliber.

This is just too much of a value pick to pass up.

Baltimore Ravens select A.J. Hawk - LB

Seeing both Matt Leinart and Vince Young off the board here will likely break the hearts of both the Ravens front office as well as their fans, but that's the way it goes sometimes. There is no denying their need for an elite quarterback but there is a reason those types of players are so valuable and go so high in the draft, which is that they are hard to come by. Unless both Young and Brady Quinn opt to come out early the Ravens would be out of luck choosing this low and if both return to school for their senior seasons Baltimore would likely have no shot at getting a top signal caller in this draft, barring a trade. Ray Lewis is still one of the best in the business when he is healthy but Tommy Polley is nothing to write home about and there is a severe lack of depth inside that has been exposed the past two seasons due to Lewis going down with injuries.

Hawk is as productive of a linebacker as you will find with tremendous instincts, a nose for the ball and much better athleticism and physical tools than he is given credit for. Simply put, this guy is all over the field and will instantly become the leader and captain of whatever team is lucky enough to bring him into the fold.
Would rather have had QB here since Boller is painfully not the answer, but to get Hawk at #11 is ridiculous.

Hawk will not be around for the Ravens in the real draft. He likely won't make it past New Orleans.

Agreed. But in this case, the pick was obvious.
