Can someone else pick for him?Just an FYI...Wu-Banger hasn't been on in 2 days...he's the Bucs designee
and Cadillac is injured again. Earnest Graham isn't signed for much money and isn't real flashy but is a mudder that just needs a complimentary back. Bring in the Ringer. That seems about right for Tampa. Ringer was very productive, but I wonder, much like Mike Hart a year ago, how much of that system inflated and due to the Big Ten being having a lot of pushover teams this past season.81. Possibly. But Ringer is a much better runner than Mike Hart. He kind of reminds me of MJD. A lot of people compare him to Warrick Dunn. That seems about right for Tampa. When I took Herman Johnson for the Jets, I thought long and hard about going with Levitre instead. I went with HJ mostly because I think he can step in as a short yardage OG right away and make an impact. The Jets' need for some size up front and that trumped Levitre's versatility at least for the Jets with what I think will be an offense heavilly dependent on the running game.3rd Round Pick 16 The Washington Redskins Select Andy Levitre Oregon St. G/C
I looked a good bit at DL, and still really didn't like them at this pick. With the Skins getting Gross they now add a young Guard to take the place of aging Pete Kendel or Randy Thomas.
Strengths
Levitre is tough and plays with a mean streak. His goal on every snap is to drive his man off the line and into the ground, and he does not quit until the whistle blows. He has a thick frame and displays the power to consistently control his man at the point of attack. Levitre also shows solid lateral agility as he has most of his experience on the outside as a tackle. That experience at tackle gives him a bit of versatility as he is most likely to move inside to guard at the next level. That ability to bounce outside in a pinch though is a nice trait to have.
Weaknesses
Levitre is only a marginal athlete, and that is why he is moving inside. He has decent feet in a short area but he is not going to get out on the move very often. He also is short and may have maximized his frame so there isn’t much room for growth at the next level.
Future
Levitre is not a major physical specimen but he shows some ability to move defenders off the line of scrimmage in the running game and create space for his backs. The tenacity he plays with, along with his strength and experience should allow him to make an impact early on in his NFL career. He could be a rookie starter despite not being selected until the third or fourth round.
Hrmmm.Earlier in this draft though, TB selected Beanie Wells...

81. Vance Walker - DT, Georgia Tech81. BUCCANEERS - Javon Ringer, RB - Michigan State
I agree that the Bucs will probably pursue a DT pretty early. My only qualms with this so far for the Bucs is that I don't think they would go with Beanie Wells due to injury / durability risk. They may be gun-shy on that kind of thing because of the whole Caddilac mess.I think they look at McCoy there instead...Andy Dufresne said:81. Vance Walker - DT, Georgia TechAndy Dufresne said:81. Something to keep in mind for you mockers out there: I think you can forget about an OT at 1.07 for the Raiders. I don't care if Crabtree is there or not. In the press conference announcing Cable as the coach, Al Davis mentioned that Kiffin wouldn't play Henderson, which Al referred to as "my pick". A lot of people talk about the Raiders taking a Jason Smith to replace Kwame....well, Kwame was replaced already by Henderson. And Al gushed about him (And Henderson did do a great job vs. Gaines Adams and Mario Williams). Right now, I think that Maclin, Orakpo, Everette, or even Raji are a lot more likely than a 1st round OT.

Wow. Good insider stuff here. Any chance Al falls in love with Crabtree and tries to make a move up in the 1st?Something to keep in mind for you mockers out there: I think you can forget about an OT at 1.07 for the Raiders. I like picking a lineman, but am not sure about this one. Are they abandoning the zone system? I have heard some talk about this and it may be a good idea. With the 16th pick of the 3rd round, the Green Bay Packers select:
Fenuki Tupou, OL, Oregon
Run blocking was a problem for the Packers in many games last year, but Aaron Rodgers also absorbed 40+ sacks. That's a lot for a scramble-y QB playing in a quick-read offense. So while the Packers will continue to look for guys suited to their zone-blocking scheme in this draft (like Jamon Meredith), they may also want to install some pass-blocking size.
Enter the 6'5", 330 lbs. Tupou. Even if he only ends up playing guard, he will add raw power to a line that has none. He could contribute in 3rd-and-long and goal line blocking situations right away.
National Football Post sez "A smooth-footed tackle with good balance and power in pass protection. Might be a right-side player only but has the quickness to handle the edge."
fftoolbox.com sez "Tupou is a massive lineman who is tough and physical. He has great balance for such a wide body, with good anchor ability. His feet stick to the ground and he has some flexibility. Tupou is a good pass protector who knows his assignments, but he lacks speed (5.26)."
There was talk with frozen fields linemen movement was a problem but they are already changing the defense maybe they'll stay with the zone. How do you abandon it if everyone on the roster was chosen to play it?Well - I'm sure it could be done. I don't expect a change with all of the offensive coaches back, but I'm sure they've discussed it and we'll know more after they've added more linemen through the draft and/or FA.

Allen makes a lot of sense to me since it seems 50-50 that Vasher will be back.If I'm choosing for Chicago, I would be looking at two Georgia kids...Mohammed Massaquoi (WR) or Asher Allen (CB).
I can go with that. Cody Brown DE/LB UConn, was another guy I was thinking of.Allen makes a lot of sense to me since it seems 50-50 that Vasher will be back.If I'm choosing for Chicago, I would be looking at two Georgia kids...Mohammed Massaquoi (WR) or Asher Allen (CB).
--NFL Draft Scout2009 Senior Bowl: Another successful Football Championship Subdivision player, Cal Poly wide receiver Ramses Barden, looks like he belongs on the field among more heralded players at his position. Physically, he dwarfs most receivers and cornerbacks
-- Pat Kirwan - NFL.comRamses Barden, a 6-6, 227-pound wide receiver from Cal Poly, was a man among boys in small-college football, but at Senior Bowl practices, he looks like he belongs. For teams in need of a red-zone threat, this could be the guy to target. Barden demonstrates more playing speed than advertised and, in a couple of practices, reminded me of Saints wide receiver Marques Colston, who also came from a small school (Hofstra).
The write-ups on him and his size remind me of another 4th rounder from a few years back Brandon Marshall.@ #85 The Philadelphia Eagles select: Ramses Barden, WR Cal-Poly
If this was a four round mock I may have waited on this kid but since it isnt, I didnt. Ramses Barden checks in at 6'6" 227 lbs, has huge hands and long arms and will be a great red zone threat for the birds (something they clearly lack).
A few notes on Barden:

I like what little I've seen of him, and this is a nice gamble of a 3rd here.Excellent value in the 3rd, I must say.Picking for Andy via PM:
With the 86th pick the Minnesota Vikings select:
Nate Davis QB, Ball State
I don't think any of the Eagles picks have been bad. But they are more of what the fans want, than what they will most likely do. The Eagles have always built from the inside, and I don't think that there is any way that they walk out of the 3rd rd with 1 lineman and 3 skill players. I believe this is very wishful thinking on your part, but as I said, I didn't have a problem with any of your picks. I fully expect to see multiple lineman, offense or defense with the early picks.@ #85 The Philadelphia Eagles select: Ramses Barden, WR Cal-Poly

Someone picked Iglesias in the 2nd round. Maybe it was Andy.I don't know if anyone owned the Panthers since they didn't have a 1st...
If it were me picking for them, I menioned him earlier as a possibility but Mohammed Massaquoi makes alot of sense here.
Steve Smith is their constant. But Muhammad will be 36 next year so he's most definitely year-to-year. Jarrett has been a big bust but he'll probably get another year. But reports have the Panthers parting ways with D.J. Hackett. So the cupboard is pretty bare here at the WR position.

Didn't see that, but given how bare the cupboard is at this position, going WR/WR is still plausible.Someone picked Iglesias in the 2nd round. Maybe it was Andy.I don't know if anyone owned the Panthers since they didn't have a 1st...
