I'm thinking Phillips will outplay his cheatsheet rankings this weekend... anyone? Seems a little low to me this week.

Yeah, I like the matchup, too. I'd probably give Phillips a higher probability than 0.5 to get a sack this weekend against the left side of the KC OL and I also think he'll do better than four solo tackles.I'm awful glad Norton does the projections, though. It's hard enough deciding between two close matchups for me; projecting stats would have me fussy for sure.

When you are talking about a 3-4 OLB, especially one the calibur of Phillips, there is always the potential for a big game but there is still the potential for a poor one (remember Merriman's 0-1-0 in week 2?). There is no doubt that he's on fire of late and he very well may out perform the projections but what I see is a guy who has put up more than 5 tackles just once in 5 games, against an offense that has allowed just 5 sacks over the past 4 games. If the game is close the Chiefs are going to pound the ball on the ground which would mean better tackle potential but less sack opportunity. If the Chargers jump out early and dominate, the Chiefs will have to pass more which is good for the sack potential but not for tackle production. Phillips could blow up but I just don't see this as such a great match up. FWIW I did bump him up a little on the Friday update ;)

Anyone watch this game? I'd love some info. on why Phillips virtually disappeared from the stat sheet this week.

ETA: Nevermind. :bag:
