Sherri Papini's husband speaks out on her kidnapping (1 Viewer)

I really look forward to finding out what happened here.  It's either a real life "gone girl" or an incredibly tragic and brutal ordeal for this woman.

I haven't been following this story. What about it is causing people to question the details of the kidnapping?

Faking a kidnapping to go on a robbery spree seems like a interesting idea. Of like to subscribe to their newsletter.

My guess is because the majority of these cases result in either the abductor(s) being caught/killed or they find the body of the kkidnapee.

I know the 20/20 special said she was branded but they aren't giving out any details on this. I'm sure this will give investigators a ton of information.

I don't think anyone is question the details by her.

The questions are more along the line of this is So bizarre that there has to be some more backstory.

The husband is speaking to the media like crazy and people are questioning his motives.

I don't think anyone is questioning here story though

This sounds like a sex trafficking case and she just would not cooperate so they dumped her. And there was a kidnapping on the same trail years before. She is lucky to be alive. It also sounds like there is someone or something creepy lurking in that area.

The only real reason I've seen is someone reported seeing her at a gas station, looking scared, with two men at the time she was being tortured in a locked room somewhere. It's a thin reason, but police have been tight lipped and have said they can't rule out something going on that hasn't been reported to them by the victim/family.  However they've also said they believe her.

Sex traffickers who don't feel the woman is of any use don't usually dump living people.  They dump bodies.

The usual motives for the abduction are missing.  It wasn't ransom.  It wasn't a serial killer.  It wasn't a rapist acting alone.  It wasn't sex trafficking.  Why was she taken?

Her high school classmate went out for a jog 20 years ago and was never seen again.  Believe they knew each other.

Sherri goes missing and 2 days later her husband goes and visits the dead girls' parents for advice.  The parents had never met the husband prior.

Weird story.

I'm still holding on to my theory of some young people who were "inexperienced" with crime and decided to kidnap this lady but didn't have the gumption to off her once they were done.   Future serial killers in the making.   As to why her, well, she is pretty ####### hot.

The parents of the other girl have strong suspicion to believe their daughter was killed by her karate teacher who she was breaking up with. The link above tells the story. It wasn't a random kidnapping like this one appears to be. Unrelated by all accounts.

Northern Cali is weird place in my limited experience up there.

My cynical side assumed this was a hoax or something. Terrible story if this is all legit and that woman is lucky to be alive.

Didnt mean in infer the husband had any involvement with the first girl.  Just that his behavior is odd.

He did a lot of looking away in that 20/20 interview. Something's off with him, didn't come off as trustworthy or sincere IMO.

I didn't take it to infer that at all. I was just saying that the fact that the two girls attended the same school a year apart in age is where the similarities of the cases end. Just coincidences.

The same people didn't do both crimes imo.

What didn't fit the sex trafficking angle was they usually don't damage the goods like they did with her ie: hair cut off and beaten to a pulp.

This has a cultish feel to it, but them letting her go kind of betrays that.

There is something off about the husband--can't put my finger on it. The idea this family was trying to find a niche for a reality series before this attack also raises a "balloon boy" type flag.

I think people are just cynical by nature. I haven't seen anything that questions the validity of her story.
The husband's first released statement said they were extremely private family that didn't use social media and then less than a week later he was watched by millions on 20/20.

Instead of being at home with his wife who had been missing for weeks and beaten up badly, he was on TV doing a very public interview.

That was really the point where it got weird to me.  A normal person doesn't do that imo

That and the husband visited the dead girl's family for advice within 48 hours of Sherri going missing.

I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT SHERRI PAPINI YOU GUYS THINK THERE'S SOME WEIRD #### GOING ON WITH SHERI PAPINI AND THE LATINAS THAT GOT TO HER TO THROW HER IN THE BACK OF A CAR AND START A SEX RING.

SHERRI PAPINI IS TOTALLY INNOCENT OF HER HUSBAND WHO HIRED SOME LATINA DRIVERS TO BEAT HER UP, LEAVE HER BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THEN CLAIM IT WAS A SEX RING ALL ALONG BECAUSE NOTHING SOUNDS WRONG ABOUT THAT!

Yeah I agree (and I think that happens more often in disappeared cases than we are told or know) but this may be an exception. These are irrational actors to begin with, it may excite them to see this in the news and know nthat the authorities have no clue what to do or where to turn for an answer.
