Shocked by the expert confidence picks this week (1 Viewer)

Specifically the game tonight. Wow.
Well....bucs defense impacted by multiple injuries and pats defense impacted by no pass rush exposing secondary, so it basically comes down to a shoot out.

So your surprised that Brady/Gronk/Cooks/Hogan/Amendola is expected to outperform Crab Legs/Evans/Djax/Humphries/Brate?

Which team has the better coaching staff?  (that's very relevant on a short week).

Silva has it Pats 35-34.

The confidence numbers were even more lopsided last week...NO ONE had Carolina beating NE....but they did.

I don't totally agree with the bolded. NE has been getting a decent push on opposing O-lines and getting in the face of QBs. But they have done a terrible job in actually bringing down the QB's and instead let plays continue for way too long, the coverage breaks down, and teams have been getting chunks of yardage on plays that should have ended in the backfield.

The biggest issue so far has been the secondary not being on the same page, with guys doubling some players while leaving others totally uncovered. That has nothing to do with the pass rush. Inopportune penalties have also killed them, as multiple times drives should have ended at 4th and 15 but instead turned into automatic first downs.

IMO, simple getting guys to communicate better and function as a unit could easily shave 100 yards a game allowed by the defense. They have been allowing multiple big gainers each week on guys that were not covered at all. I don't think those will continue. They may not be a great defense, but they should at least be able to be an average defense.

Yes.

TB is at home and they get Martin back.

I'm not so shocked majority picked NE. Just by the margin. 198-1!?!

I do agree with you....too much confidence (12/16) in NE victory....I would have given it a confidence of 8-10....now 6-8 without Gronk....and I'm an over the top Pats fan.
