Titans RB Shonn Greene was arrested for fleeing the scene of a parking incident on Friday night.
Greene was parked in a handicap parking space in Franklin, Tennessee on Friday evening. When a parking enforcement officer tried to issue Greene a ticket, he got into his car, maneuvered around the officer's vehicle and left the scene. Greene was charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk. Green turned himself in Friday night after learning there was a warrant out for his arrest, and was released after posting a $2,000 bond. His status for Sunday's game against the Texans is unknown.

At the very least, don't park in a handicapped spot when your license is suspended.

Won't be surprised if the Titans cut him.

The most idiotic thing is he could have taken the ticket, paid it, and nothing would have happened to him.

Updating a previous report, ESPN Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky reports RB Shonn Greene's roster spot is not in jeopardy following his Friday night arrest.
Greene was arrested for failing to halt for a traffic officer. Greene was being issued a ticket for parking in a handicap spot. Greene (hamstring) is listed as probable for the Titans' Week 8 contest with the Texans.

at least he didn't steal a shovel to cover himself full of decayed leaves and doo doo in an attempt to camouflage himself from the Law

For a glorified parking ticket? Teams won't be able to fill out their rosters pretty soon.

If "glorified" is another word for "driving without licence, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk" then yes.

Geez who cares. If he wasn't a famous fantasy football celebrity would we even be hearing about this?

It's still just a parking ticket, with bonus cash for the local community. Shonn Greene will never drive in Dilbert County again, and the local kiddie park gets a new sliding board.

Titans' Shonn Greene arrested on resisting stop charge:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000416856/article/titans-shonn-greene-arrested-on-resisting-stop-charge

Excerpt:

Greene did not heed the officer's request to see a handicapped placard, entered the vehicle in question and drove away, almost hitting the officer, per the release. However, Greene was impeded by traffic and the officer attempted to issue him the citation once more; the release says that the running back then "sped away" again.
A good lawyer should be able to get the charges dismissed on the clear evidence that somebody else was impersonating Greene. After all, when have you ever seen Greene "speed away" from pursuit on 2 consecutive plays?

I think this is where you drop the mic.

Surely the officer in question has seen the Titans play and could have exercised a bit of common sense in knowing that Greene is handicapped and probably just left his pass at home ?

I have to say that this is one of the funniest threads I've seen on the Shark Pool in a while. However, in all seriousness--regardless of the incident stemming from a parking violation--the big news is that he basically ran from the authorities and apparently almost ran into them. Whether or not his roster spot is safe (as Rotoworld posted)--this has to warrant a fairly major suspension from the league, no? I just wonder if the personal conduct policy can be utilized fairly swiftly here.
