Anyone have an idea on Carters PT status when Smith comes back next week?
Smith won't be back next week.Carter is the real deal. He is Carolina's WR1 when Smith is out.

Yes but is he #3 or 4 when Smith is back? Has he beat out Colbert? According to the depth chart he hasn't.

Colbert was only in on 3WR sets yesterday as far as I could tell, Carter had far more plays. Also, Carter is much more of a deep threat than Colbert - he's supposedly faster than Smith - and to me is a far more likely candidate than Keary to be the #3WR once Smith returns. Late last season the deep ball to Carter became part of the Panthers' game plan on a weekly basis (he only had nine receptions but five were of 29 yards or more and he had a couple of near-misses on bombs too), and I suspect they will fancy his chances against nickel backs again this year.
