I have Guillen, Crawford, Sherril and got offered a trade for Matt Holliday & Ryan Garko

I got Putz coming off the DL, so I don't really need 4 RP (format 4 SP, 2 RP), so the question is is Gullen and Crawford worth it for Holliday and Garko? Bellow I listed my team (I am in 1st place, and the guy offering me a trade is in last place.... the only thing that keeps me from running away with the batting part of the league, IMO, is HR & RBI)



Forgot to mention before: I can have either Garko or Carlos Delgado... my pick...

My question is, how do you run away with the league in the first 2 weeks? Anyhow if you're looking for HR's and RBI's doing that trade is a no brainer.

Currently these are the standings:

R HR RBI SB AVG W SV K ERA WHIP

2nd 5th 9th 1st 1st 1st 4th 3rd 3rd 1st

and I'd like to think SB, AVG, Wins, & Runs I'll keep a good lock on (Top 3), and if i get my HR's up, i'll put better use in that category than having 40 more SB than the next guy behind me

I guess my only thoughts are if i get Garko, I'm gonna have to PLAY Garko.... I mean, he's not doing so bad right now, but I'm no Indians fan, and think he has got to plato somewhere near previous years numbers

based on your team needs, it's a decent trade, but i would still look for better. you'd be getting shorted in value, imo. (holliday's more valuable than crawford, but guillen's way more valuable than garko or delgado).

the deal would be more than fair, without adding in sherrill. just b/c you only need 2 RP's doesn't mean there's no benefit to having 4 closers. putz is on the DL and cj wilson is cj wilson. nothing wrong with trading sherrill, but i'd get value for it. there's no point in just giving him away.

personally, i'd dangle figgins or furcal for the best 1B possible, throwing in sherrill if needed.

this deal works, but i would think you could find a better one out there.

I agree with this guy.You can deal Crawford for sure, as you already have an abundance of speed, and I'm sure Crawford will fetch the most in return, but you are giving up too much here. What happens if Putz's injury lingers for a month or more? And CJ Wilson well, he's just not that great. Your team is pretty good, but it is not really going to "run away with the league" It's two week's in, temper your expectations. I've been in plenty of leagues where the last place team in April has gone on to win the league. Garko is not that great really. Personally, I'd prefer to package Furcal and Guillen and upgrade at first base.
