If OJ had murdered his wife and Goldman before his induction would he have still got in the HOF? Not too sure.

Is this some kind of joke?

Blah blah he doggs it blah blah he's a quitter blah blah off the field issues

This guy is arguably one of the top 3 WRs to ever play the game. Who the hell are these people who are voting no in this poll?

Would OJ have made it if Nicole Simpson had been killed BEFORE he was elected into the HOF?FTR... I believe Moss is a lock, and I think he should go in the HOF. What I have a (relatively minor) issue with is the premise that stats aren't just the most important basis for judgin HOF worthiness, but that all other factors pale so much as to not matter at all. While I think in Moss' case his stats overcome a lot of deficiencies, I don't think it's unfair to ask at what point do otherwise HOF worthy stats NOT overcome similar deficiencies? IE: We tend to ignore the other stuff too quickly.

That's true, but if OJ is allowed to remain in the HOF should they really be nit picky about some snide remarks Moss said in the past.
On February 5, 1997 a civil jury in Santa Monica, California unanimously found Simpson liable for the wrongful death of and battery against Goldman, and battery against Brown.
Simpson faced a possible life sentence with parole on the kidnapping charge, and mandatory prison time for armed robbery. On December 5, Simpson was sentenced to a total of 33 years in prison with the possibility of parole in about 9 years. On September 4, 2009, the Nevada Supreme Court denied a request for bail during Simpson's appeal. In October 2010, the Nevada Supreme Court affirmed his convictions. He is now serving his sentence as Nevada Department of Corrections inmate #1027820 at the Lovelock Correctional Center.

You dont think the second best WR of all time should be in the Hall of Fame? Seriously?
The "most TD's of all time" etc., stats adequately immortalize fantastic physical talents. I completely respect everyone's right to believe that the HOF is completely about physical/mental gifts. But for crying out loud, at least recognize that others may respectfully disagree and believe that a player's other on-field attributes should play a role in granting HOF status to a player. The statistics are earned and stay with a player forever and can make that person remembered/revered. But the HOF is bestowed. HOF status is not a right. At least in the (minority) opinion of some, the most amazing physical and mental talent of all time should not be in the HOF if that player demonstrates the repeatedly willingness to quit on his team and fans when the player doesn't get his way.I teach my kids, "play hard or go home." I think that is the benchmark of a HOF player.

I respectfully disagree. How many players do you see in the HOF that had crappy careers but were high-character, hard working guys? The HOF is for the best players that ever played the game, not the best personalities.Maybe in your personal HOF...but not the official NFL HOF...and the original question was whether or not he will make the HOF. Moss is a first-ballot lock, and rightly so.

It's also funny how his past few years of a virtually spotless record and almost perfect behaviour with NE is totally forgotten when he pulls up early on one play in Minnesota.

I agree. Duds should not make the HOF. But neither should great players who don't play with heart on every play. I think that waters down the HOF just as much as putting a mediocre player in. I don't think we see many guys with crappy careers make it to the HOF. So why not also weed out someone who doesn't give his best?

Because even when he doesn't give his best, he is still, by far the best on the field. Few players in the history of the game have been as dominant a force as Moss. Did he dog it and take off plays? Probably. That doesn't take away what he did when he was playing at his highest level.
