Poor Man's Semisonic: James LevyOne of those bands that was much better than the song they became famous for. My favorite is Down In Flames.

They were my first cassette tape. Be Good Johnny would have been my 1.503. Men at Work - Overkill
I know Binky gets mad when I don't choose a band's most popular song, so I want to announce that I also considered: Down Under
wow - blast from the past - I had forgotten that song! They were my first cassette tape. Be Good Johnny would have been my 1.
always loved this part of the song...wow - blast from the past - I had forgotten that song!
The master of hookup genre: Rotten LoveTransactional ?Great voice. Why is that woman sitting there?
Yeah, played a few shows with them back in the day. Bill was in a bunch of bands, most famously the ### Ponys. Talented guy. Cool that they're still putting stuff out.

I also saw that you listed 500 Miles To Memphis. Played a ton of shows and partied a bunch with those guys. Surprised to see them in here. Fun band.
Stay strong Shuke. Overkill is their best song.503. Men at Work - Overkill

Good selection.
Bar I used to go to played either this or Closing Time by Leonard Cohen at 2am. Not sure if they were giving us a hint.
Always liked this song a lot.
I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me a very long time into my life until I realized there was an alien abduction element to this song - I kind of wish I continued to be oblivious to that.487. Styx - Come Sail Away
I was in New Orleans once for business. It was for a convention so I saw some old buddies from a previous employer. We were at a bar with a typical Bourbon Street cover band playing. They didn't have a keyboard player but played this song anyway. There was a keyboard on stage, though, and the lead singer played the part from 3:30 - 4:00, but only played two alternating keys with his forefingers the entire time. It was horrible. I laughed so hard I think I pissed my pants.
Was that the one with Jason Segel and Linda Cardellini in the basement of her parents' house? If so, that was super painful.I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me a very long time into my life until I realized there was an alien abduction element to this song - I kind of wish I continued to be oblivious to that.
Also for any Freaks and Geeks fans out there the use of this song was a classic moment.
Yup - I've mentioned in other places. Great sceneAlso for any Freaks and Geeks fans out there the use of this song was a classic moment.
No that was Lady (yeah that was painfully hysterical). Was that the one with Jason Segel and Linda Cardellini in the basement of her parents' house? If so, that was super painful.

What a great, short-lived show that was - really miss it.
Any true Styx fan will tell you that Suite Madame Blue is the correct choice here.487. Styx - Come Sail Away

That would make for a good thread. Best 100 boat songs.Speaking of boats, there is a boatload of music I have never heard before.
these guys were just a straight rip-off of Golden Plane.
Is this the M*A*S*H episode when Hawkeye slipped Radar some acid?
+1000, but I love me some Taxi too. And Mr. Tanner. And A Better Place to Be. And There Only Was One Choice. And I Wanna Learn a Love Song. And I guess I just really love Harry Chapin. Long live the story tellers!!485. Harry Chapin - Cats In The Cradle
There aren't many songs that pull the heart strings as much as this one. As a father of two, I really need to listen to this every day. Not only are my kids getting older, but my parents are too, and I feel like I don't see them enough.
Love this tune but I only knew the Camper Van Beethoven version. Thanks for this.

Love, love, love the album Kiko. It's really all I know from Los Lobos so I'll need to check this out.
I don't know the whole Simple Minds catalog, but I really enjoy See The Lights.
