Probably about the same time I get my own in-home recording studio. In other words, don't go holding your breath.Sweet.
So, when are you going to post some songs?![]()

Wella - I will keep pestering you now that I know about it.Probably about the same time I get my own in-home recording studio. In other words, don't go holding your breath.![]()
It’s like Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi. That one song in their catalog that is not like the others so it stands out. I don’t care for either of those bands but I really enjoy both of those songs. Perfect pick from GnR.I know I'll get lambasted for this pick, so I'm going to end here for the night.
Look, Appetite for Destruction was a huge part of my coming-of-age story. It was the soundtrack to the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of high school. One of the greatest summers of my life.
But I have to pick something else for G'n'R.
If you haven't noticed by now, I love the piano. And an orchestra accompaniment. And I love epic songs like this.
68. Guns N Roses - November Rain
You shouldn’t be lambasted. It’s a great song.I know I'll get lambasted for this pick, so I'm going to end here for the night.

Popped up in the Spotify playlist. Great tune and never heard it before.
Seen any rods lately?Anyone ever listen to Art Bell? I had never heard of him until the mid-90's, when I was a graduate student at the University of Kentucky. Unlike a lot of yahoos I get resumes from these days who received a Master's degree without doing a thesis, I actually had to do work. And I mean a ####-ton of work. Surprisingly enough, a lot of it was tedious labor, preparing pressure-sensitive film and then sealing it so I could later place it into joint spaces. And then a lot of scanning of the films. And then a lot of analysis of the scans. I'm talking thousands and thousands of films. Well, I tended to do a lot of this work through the night, when I could be interrupted and have the lab to myself. That meant playing whatever music I wanted. Or when I wanted to switch it up a bit, I flipped on AM radio. That's when I found the wonderfully weird Art Bell show. I'm not going to go into a big explanation of the weirdness of the show, but I loved his weird guests, the weirder callers, and best of all how Art pretended to take all of it so seriously. Well, what does this have to do with this thread? He had a handful of songs he used for bumper music in and out of commercials, and this was one of them...
141. Maxine Nightingale - Right Back Where We Started From
wtf.You thought that GnR pick was bold (dumb)? Hold my beer.
67. Ozzy Osbourne - Goodbye to Romance
I only had one Ozzy album growing up, Blizzard of Oz. This was my favorite song on it, just ahead of Mr. Crowley.
big approval! I will be more clear in the future.Thank you for not showing disapproval of this pick, although I'm not really sure you showed approval either.
My thoughts are the same. The Peter Gabriel pick is a beauty. The Ozzie song obviously has a place in your heart.big approval! I will be more clear in the future.
I was still in shock from that Ozzie pick.
he's not called "Deep Cut" for no reason. My thoughts are the same. The Peter Gabriel pick is a beauty. The Ozzie song obviously has a place in your heart.
I would hate on the Joe Walsh song because it IS terrible but I feel bad that his son was killed and Fox cancelled his crime fighting show.73. Joe Walsh - In The City
I know the video title says Eagles, but this is the original Joe did for The Warriors. Probably one of the greatest movies ever.
As I was getting ready to post this, I realized I didn't actually have an Eagles tune on my list. Not a huge oversight, since I'm not a big fan. I was close to posting the Eagles' version of this so I could include another Walsh song like The Confessor or Rocky Mountain Way, but I need to give this tune its credit.
So with that said, BONUS MATERIAL ALERT.
73b. Hotel California
Yes a cliche selection, but for good reason.
Gawd71. The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
I just recently learned about the history of this song. I don't care if the strings are a ripoff of an arrangement of another song that was really just another arrangement of a traditional song.
Also, girl at 2:35 is probably top 10 ever for me.
Damn70. Doors - LA Woman
An all-time favorite to sing (yell) to while driving.
Also considered: Soul Kitchen

That’s better.
DOESNT ANYBODY FING KNOCK ANYMORE?65. Cars - Moving in Stereo
As if the song isn't good enough on its own, for men my age it will permanently be associated with a topless Phoebe Cates.
Great Ozzy track.67. Ozzy Osbourne - Goodbye to Romance

I stopped reading at “Marshall Tucker”.64. Marshall Tucker Band - This Ol' Cowboy
You remember before the internet? In order to get new music you had to buy it or make a tape from someone else's album. Well, I was always hankering for more. So while in college I would drive downtown to the Cincinnati public library and browse all the CD's in the media section. I'd leave with 10 or 15, take them home and listen to them. If I liked the album I'd tape it. But if I only like a song or two, I'd only tape those, so I had a collection of mixed tapes also. For whatever reason I wasn't a huge fan of this Marshall Tucker album at the time, so I had this on one of my mixes. Can't You See is an awesome song and probably the anticipated selection, but it's not my favorite.
Victoria vs Waterloo Sunset for me but Picture Book is a fine choice.63. Kinks - Picture Book
Probably one of the most underappreciated bands ever. So many great songs to pick from.
Also considered: Victoria

pretty sure they used portions of this song in a number of Jo Ann Worley based "Loveboat" episodes.64. Marshall Tucker Band - This Ol' Cowboy

Krista's does Binky impression right about now.
No. I was hoping you cleaned out your ears, Chooch.Sorry, were you hoping for Wonderful Christmas Time?
Post your alternative(s) or S T F UNo. I was hoping you cleaned out your ears, Chooch.
Foul. That’s not even top 20 for Sir Paul.
Both great songs. I also like Swlabr. Cool title.59. Cream - Crossroads
I originally had this tune slotted for Clapton's solo spot, until I realized it was actually originally a Cream release. So this knocked Tales of Brave Ulysses off the list.
Shuke's 1011 favorite songs by 1011 different artists.Foul. That’s not even top 20 for Sir Paul.
I never noticed that lisp before. Now I'll never be able to not hear it. Thanks. For whatever reason, the distorted keyboard, the whistle sound, the singer’s lisp - none of it works for me in this song. I would go with Shamballa. Plus, I think there’s an actual alien playing keyboards in this video.
Can’t You See is one of my all time favs but you made a solid pick here.64. Marshall Tucker Band - This Ol' Cowboy

I'm in shock that so many people who want to give advice on Ozzy picks don't know how to spell his name.big approval! I will be more clear in the future.
