The wise person doesn't focus on fate. Fate is a crutch and an excuse. Do your best every day. Change your routine. Change your family. Change the country. Change the world.  The effort matters so much more than many understand or appreciate. 

I’m not really talking about fate or whether it should affect how an individual acts in his or her life.  

Its really more of a physics question, I guess, though I suppose I can see the angle that regardless of the physics answer, we only have our own experiences to live anyway, so they should be meaningful within our own scope of comprehension.
