Now that his suspension has been reduced to 2 games and he is active again why wouldn't the Raiders help A.Walters out by giving him another weapon to work with? If you need WR help, J.Porter could pay big dividends down the stretch unless he finds himself in another dispute with Shell. Lets review why Porter should be on his best behavior:
1) He kept his signing bonus money that the Raiders could have gone after
2) He only faced a 2 game suspension, he's back and I would think a professional football player would want to be on the field
3) Art Shell and him have talked so maybe just maybe their problems are behind them and he has clean slate until after the season
4) Numerous teammates have lobbied for his return, most notably W.Sapp and A.Walters the starting QB.
Here is an article that gives a bit more insight and reason for Art to insert Porter in the line-up:

Tidbits from another article:
Porter was present for Thursday morning's walkthrough and practiced in the afternoon after flying cross country from Florida to join the team Wednesday night. His four-week suspension cut in half, Porter appeared jovial in the locker room, exchanging banter with teammates and complimenting a television announcer on his shirt but telling his cameraman to "please go away."
He did not submit to interviews, but he had one with the coach.
"We spoke this morning," coach Art Shell said. "Things are fine. Look, we are here to work. He is here to work. We move on and try to get prepared for the Steelers."
Shell said Porter worked with both the regular offense and the scout team but would not comment on whether he would be active for Sunday's game. He has been on the inactive list every week he was present.
Asked if his chat with Porter had been a "clear the air" conversation, Shell jettisoned the entire topic.
"That is as far as I am going to go on that subject," he said. "I will talk about my team, period. But I won't dwell on just one individual."
