So where does Sanchez go? (1 Viewer)

I assume the Jets will dump him now, right? I mean the Jets don't trade for a QB and not start him.
I think the main reason they got him was to silence people saying their team attitude is bad. Getting him for a 4th round pick wasnt that costly

Let me quess. Sanchez will start but after a couple losses the Tebow zealots will howl til he starts. Tebow starts a game, the Jets win, Sanchez is cut to prevent Tebow from having competition, the defense and kicker will carry the team to enough wins to squeak into the playoffs, where they'll get decimated. The Jets will sign another QB in the offseason and Tebow will be traded.Original idea, huh?

Sanchez will be playing to a constant low rumbling of "Tebow Tebow Tebow" like war drums in the distance. Every time Tebow steps on the field there will be a roar of "Tebow Tebow Tebow?". And when when Sanchez inevitably struggles, Sanchez will hear "Tebow Tebow Tebow". Tebow will have every opportunity to succeed. If the Jets win a game with Tebow starting, we'll have full blown Timsanity in New York and among football fans everywhere.

This is an idiotic move - why would the Jets trade into this mess?

Tebow is there to backup Sanchez and be the wildcat guy; the cost, aside from draft picks, will be a fanbase that tries to dictate who should play QB the moment something goes awry.

Over / under on how long it takes for the "we want Tebow" chants to start? 2.5 quarters.

My guess is they let Sanchez and Tebow compete for the starting gig.
My guess is they hope this lights a fire under Sanchez and he starts working as hard as Tebow does. I can't believe they seriously are thinking of having an open competition for the starting QB gig after giving Sanchez so much gaureenteed money. Although I cant wait for the Tebow chants to start once Sanchez has one of his patented 12 for 24 150 yards and 2 INTs. games. That ought to do loads for team chemistry.

I may take the under on the Tebow chants. Wait to see who the jets play in their first home game.

How does this not shatter Sanchez' ego?

He's been the King of LA and the King of NY. I understand he's not the most popular guy now in NY, but he had a commitment from the team and was looking to move forward from last year.

I have a hard time seeing how Tebow's presence doesn't run him over. Of course....I'm not an NFL QB either.

Sanchez got what - 25m guaranteed? He is the starter, period. Tebow will run - 10-15 plays a game, in particular inside the 10 yard line.

Tannenbaum and Ryan, "Jets Jesters" - are riding this thing for all the PR splash it will provide. The JETS are jokes here in the Metropolitan NY area. Even their most dedicated fans have serious questions...

Tim Tebow is a "commodity" that will be abused and used for, at best, 2 years. Then, and only then, after leaving will he be able to succeed in the NFL. It will be a circus in the AFC East - at least temporarily. The "15 Minutes of Fame" will disappear in a "New York Minute" . . . :) :P

They got Tebow cheaply, why not for a 4th rounder.

Sparano will bring the Wildcat back into play here some, but Sanchez is still going to be the starter. What is he averaging-11M per year?

I don't know why you would think this. Denver had a hard time even committing to starting him and Sanchez just got an extension. Tebow was brought in for the Wildcat and the PR buzz after the Giants squashed the Jets dreams to become the number one team in NY. Will there be Tebow chants? I'm sure. Could things change whereby they end up giving Tebow a shot to cpmpete? Maybe. Will Sanchez me moved now? No way.
