So who do you take at #2? (1 Viewer)

1st off, this is something I am sure a lot of people are faced with as the drafts approach. Here is the dilemma:

You have the 2nd spot in the draft. LJ goes 1st. ANd this is a non PPR league, but a keeper league (some limits in place: only allowed to keep 6 and only 3 out of the 1st 6 rounds). YOu get some bonus points for 100+ yard games (5 bonus pts). 1 pt/10 yds rushing and receiving.

SA or LT is the question.

a) Being a non PPR, the edge that LT has with receptions is now gone. NO edge to anyone.

b) Being a keeper, age should matter. But Shaun has played 7 yrs in the league, and LT 6. ANd LT has shown more injury issues than SHaun. Not to mention, that SHaun has 1717 attempts, while LT has 1702. NO edge here either.

c) Schedule: LT gets the NFC West once, AFC CEntral once and AFC West twice. SHaun gets NFC West twice, NFC North once, AFC West once. Looks like some edge to SHaun since especially with AZ and SF in weeks 14 and 15.

d) Supporting cast: Ah ha...... rookie QB vs a team really established on O with a solid QB BUT a team that lost its best interior OL..... :wall: ....but again, slight edge has to go to SHaun right???? LT cannot get the same red zone opportunities with a rookie QB and when he does, 9 man fronts will be the order of the day.

So what is the shark move here guys???? In PPR leagues, the answer is much simpler, but what about Non PPR leagues.....

This is the only league in which I finally got the top 3 spot, and I cannot just decide. Every day I change my mind 10000 times......

 :hot:  :wall: :bag: :banned:

Note: This is a 1st year league so no left over players ...starting from scratch

Take LT in a heartbeat.

Alexander benefited greatly by injuries to SEA's WRs. Jackson is healthy this year, and they signed Burleson.

His production was inflated last year and will dip back to earth.

While their TDs may remain about the same, LT will have many more receiving yards, and that's the key difference.

rookie QB
Not unless Rivers gets injured and Whitehurst beats out AJ Feeley -- which could easily happen, but it's no sure thing. There's generally a big difference between rookie starters (like Alex Smith last year) and guys who sat on the bench for a year or two in the same system before starting (like Daunte Culpepper, Chad Pennington, and Carson Palmer).

In any case, Tomlinson and Alexander are both excellent picks. Don't keep yourself up at night worrying about this one. You're solid either way.

Portis will out perform both LT and SA this season, he's younger and has the peak of his career in front of him.

ETA: Portis is 24. LT is 27. SA is 28.

:goodposting: trade down to #4 and pick Portis
I really love all this big 3 talk this season. I'm hoping for the #4 pick in every draft. I see Portis finishing the year out as the #2 RB, right on the heels of LJ.

As tough as the Chargers' schedule is, it seems to be one of the easiest they have had in many, many years. If Tomlinson played as well as he has against some of the toughest defenses year in and year out, how might he perform against some comparitively weaker defenses? Alexander always plays a schedule that includes inferior defenses.

 AFC West contains some of the WORST defenses in the league, and LT has played against them every year. The NFC West is equally ugly, and Alexander plays against them every year. Seems equal to me.

Actually he is correct in some sense. The AFC WEst stinks at pass D but had been better at run D (in fact Denver is excellent at run D and so is San D though that does not count for this argument). OTOH, NFC West stinks at pass and run D or are mediocre at best (see Seattle).

Hawks :homer: here and I agree 100%

I would take SA

You know what. Pick whoever you want, just make sure you are happy with your decision. It's more fun that way.
