So who will represent the NFC... (1 Viewer)

Perhaps you in Minny have seen more than we have.
Not in Minny. I'm a Raiders fan. I just liked what I started to see from the Vikings toward the 3/4 mark of the season.
Also, T-Jax isn't the main problem -- the WRs are the problem. They have Rice and..... pray for rain.
Yeah, I don't think Williamson's eye surgery helped with the dropsies. He needs "brick" hands surgery not to mention tracking, route running, and strength. But, boy can he run.

Would those of you pimping the Vikings in this thread please tell me who is going to be playing QB for them on this magical Super Bowl run you're predicting?
Sure, Tarvaris Jackson. Much better than the Dilfer led 2000 Ravens. You don't need a stud at QB to win the SB. Eli just proved that.
Yeah he has pretty much been THE SUCK ... the last month and a half.
Funny, that's pretty much what everyone was saying about Eli a month and a half ago.
Really? I wasn't saying that. First 3 years as the starter and 3 straight years to the playoffs? I thought he was maturing on, or ahead of, schedule. How many playoff games has Romo won?
I have been a strong Eli proponent, but even I started to have some serious doubts mid season. It was looking like regression, not progression. He turned it around. Now he needs to keep it up.
Most dropped passes in the NFL as a team this year. Toomer in particular was looking like he should just hang it up ... and then Toomer busted out like a man on a mission ... making sick tight-rope sideline catches ... and all of a sudden Boss looks like Shockey, and Steve Smith is making great plays ... TYREE ... makes the sickest catch in his life.Hmmmm. What's making all this work all of a sudden? The WRs started catching the passes. It's hard to blame Eli for the dropped passes.

Hard to blame Eli for that pick in the Superbowl too. Only one he threw all post season. WR tipped it to the DB.

I like the Rams, and Packers in this discussion and I think people are way off the mark with Seattle. My "hunch" is that they are the surprising team that misses the playoffs. I think the Saints bounce back as well and I also look for TB to be a little more competitive if they can draft well.

The NFC south could shape up to be a beast of a division and I think that maybe, just maybe, the NFC can start to compete with the AFC on a daily basis.

Now for my favorite. The Big Blue wrecking crew. I have always been an optimistic fan ever since Scott Norwood proved me wrong. At 9 years old I never thought a FG kicker would miss a FG like that. Ever since that day I have always thought the Giants could win. After some disapointment in some years, I have finally witnessed greatness again. This team did something special and I have a feeling we will see how it goes over the next 3 weeks or so(does spags pass on WASH? Do Amani or Strahan hang it up?).

To be honest I think Reese is very level headed and will keep this ship going full steam ahead. He needs to keep everyone from getting out of their element with the media attention they are going to get. Enjoy it and come to camp ready to work. What happens with Toomer and Strahan? They can obviously make plays for 1 more year(TOPS) and I would welcome that, however will they come out "satisfied" with their one ring? Or hungry for one more? I only want them if they are ready to play the way they did for the last 7 weeks. They dont have to put the team on their backs, but use their leadership to keep the young guys in check.

Move to the playmakers that are coming back next year for Big Blue - Eli, Boss, Smith, Ross, Tuck, Osi, Kiwi, Shockey, Alford, Jacobs, AB, Plax, their O line!

People keep wanting to wait for this team to fall off the face of the earth and guys I dont see it. And for those of you who say Eil might regress to his mean.....I dont buy it....but if it did happen what would his mean be?? another post season appearance? Cause thats all Eli has been doing for Big Blue since taking over. I think if we keep the above mentioned players and have another decent draft, which we know Reese is capable of....this team is under the cap and has a lot of the same talent coming back. I would expect 10 to 11 wins.

How do the Eagles, Vikings, and Bears have a better chance than Washington? Most everyone here said Gibbs was too old, held them back right? Now he's gone, and they get their o-line back healthy next year. I'm sure they will address the pass rush and a better WR to compliment Santana Moss. Not sure why they wouldn't be listed in Tier 2...
#1 - tough division#2 - who is their coach?

#3 I am not a believer in JCampbell or those receivers.

Vikings or bears could win the NFC North easily this season.

 I'm giving the young QB the benefit of the doubt, which most of us do far too infrequently.http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...t&p=7977980
Unless you think that the turnaround we've seen from Eli (who BTW is a former NFL starter and 1.01 draft pick, not to mention a four-year starter) is typical of young QB's, then I think the Tarvaris-Eli comparison is ridiculous. I don't give young QB's the benefit of the doubt in terms of expecting them to suddenly improve noticeably. I certainly buy and hold young QB's in fantasy, but that's as much  as it is predicting any particular success. It's a crap shoot.

:goodposting: on 1 and 2; the jury's out on 3 although they do need more at the WR position. You can also add that they'll be converting to the WCO, which is a very different offense than what they've been running. I don't see how you can't pick the 'Skins to finish last in their division in 2008 at this point.
