I've never been a Tom Brady fan. In fact, I am generally anti-Patriots because I have always supported the Colts side of the Colts-Patriots rivalry over the years.
I recognize the Patriots as a great team and Brady as a great Qb of course; he just wasn't ever a favorite of mine. But this year, I have been watching some teams that have just genuinely disappointed me. Teams that, although I am not a fan of, I watch with interest because I think they have a lot of talent and (dare I say it) potential. Teams like the cowboys, Texans, and Chargers, that I jsut keep finding myself shaking my head at in disbelief that they have blown it, yet again.
But I have to say, while watching that game last night, Brady earned some serious credit with me and all of you Patriots fans out there should be very proud of your team. I was bowled over by how in to that game he was last night. It has been a long time since I have seen a player on a team (outside of Ray Lewis) that was so clearly leading and willing his team. That wasn't "rah rah" stuff or disingenuine "want" out there last night from Brady. That was all REAL and you could tell how much it meant to him for his team to come back and play better last night and win that game.
So, since I (and so many others) seem so quick to jump on here and tear down the underachievers and gripe about how this guy and that guy ruined our fantasy day, it seems deserving that what, to me, was one of the best performances of the year, should be recognized. Fantastic performance last night and I hope the Colts-Patriots game is just as good.
