Someone explain the J-E-T-S RB depth chart (1 Viewer)

Barlow is listed #1 at NFL.com and here at FBG. Will this be Barlow's job by default? Who will be backing him up? How do you see the carries going?

I thought Barlow had a good shot to at least start by week 3 or so (give him time to acclimate himself to the offense) but then he promptly put the ball on the turf last night. I definitely see him in the mix and eventually taking over the primary job, but it just might not be in the first month of the season.

I honestly think Houston's out. Not even 1 carry last night. That's got to say something in the 3rd preseason game.

Blaylock had a decent line 9-35. Leon Washington was unspectacular.

So IMO the two guys you would want are Blaylock and Barlow and that's it (if anyone!). I'm ultimately expecting a rotation with Barlow in on 1st and 2nd downs and Blaylock in on 3rd down/change of pace.

To start the season you might see less Barlow and More Washington/Blaylock. Keep in mind that this all assumed Houston doesn't make the team.

There's always the option of Dayne or someone like that getting picked up if cut soon but I just don't see them coming in and making that much of an impact right away.

Bottom line is that it's a mess, I think Barlow is going too high but if he falls far enough for you to feel comfortable taking him then I don't think he's a bad flier at all. The Jets have two young OLmen that may perform better than expected.

Blocking has always been a flaw in Barlows game has it not?

WIth Chad Pennington under center, how longe before the combination results in a QB going down?

Note: I have him listed first here on the FBG Depth Charts, but he's in green along with Blaylock, Barlow and Washington.

That just means it's unsettled and there is no clear cut starter at this point. Once I list one of those backs as blue, they'll move to the front of the list *unless it's Barlow*..

Just to clarify in case any of you find that confusing.

thanks, I did ignore the color coding since NFL.com had the same thing.Ive ebeen high on Houston all offseason, but with him not even getting a touch last night it has me concerned. Also, there is nothing on the blogger over the past 2 weeks on details.

That's because Mangini is tightlipped. I mean, the depth chart he issued to the media is in alphabetical order! Unfortunately, the only way you're going to be able to figure out the depth chart is to watch camp and week 1.

:wall:I'm not expecting this guy to be the next Gale Sayers, but can anyone explain this to me? I thought he was fully recovered from that thyroid problem and was showing his skills.

Do you see Cmart getting back on the field? He may be the most talented back they have.

Tend to agree.Who will their 3rd down back be? I see a lot of 3rd and longs in their future and with Penningtons arm that would spell a bunch of 5 yard draw plays or 7 yard receptions. Maybe just enough production to get you through the bye week in a ppr league.

people jumped too earlyHe's not there yet IMOIt's tricky because Mangini isn't a fan of releasing depth charts

At his age he may not be the most talented but he's certainly the most effective(last we saw)
