First list is better than the 2nd. Even though the first guy listed them low, at least he listed ates and Chalres. Charles might be the best Rb in the NFL right now, and Gates might be the best TE EVER. Only injuries kept him from having the best season ever for a TE last year. I know Foster had a great season, but this isnt a FF ranking, does anyone really think Foster is one of the 3 most talented RB's in the league?

Im glad Joe Thomas made the list, if im building my own NFL frandhise i would take him over every player on either list(except maybe Calvin).

There is no way I would take MJD over Frank Gore...and I'm a Pac10 guy.

Frank Gore is criminally underrated because he's been playing for bad teams and he's had a few injuries.

Roddy White seems a bit too highly regarded. Great WR but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't make too many GM's top 10 lists.

I would imagine that 90% of nfl GM's would rather have Ryan Clady than Jake Long.

Jake Long has the name recognition though.

I think Jones-Drew had a poor year, but before 2010 I'd have absolutely taken him over Gore. He WAS the Jacksonville offense and has remained durable for that position ... plus he earns bonus points for the some of those crushing highlight blocks he deals out. Search Jones-Drew/Jason Craft on YouTube ... if it's still up, it's an amazing hit.

I see every NFL game and have been following MJD since his UCLA days...I still take Gore.

No doubt Frank Gore is a very good RB, but most people would agree that MJD is the better back(and rightfully so). I think its funny that the LHucks uses Gores team as a reason people think MJD is the better player. The Jags arent exactly the Patriots.

Unpossible. Much like everything else you hyperbolize.

Its actually not impossible. When i had the Sunday ticket, i saw 99.9% of every game, and sometimes the same games 2 or 3 times. Im not sure if they do it anymore, but they played every game from the previous week. They did it without huddles, replays, etc, so you could watch a whole game in under an hour. Plus with DVR's, it is quite possible to do.

With that said, LHucks is FOS, so i dont believe anything he says. Not to mention how does seeing every NFL game qualify him to judge Gore is better than MJD?

correct, of course I have Sunday ticket and a DVR...I actually have two DVRs with Sunday ticket.

I would argue that plenty of NFL GMs believe Gore is a better runningback.

While I don't claim to watch every Jags game, I have watched virtually every 49er game in Gores career(how sad is that) and the fact that he has averaged 4.7 YPC for his career is nothing short of incredible considering the awful OLs he has run behind for his entire career, and the horrible offensive schemes he has been forced to play in. With the exception of 2006, when Norv Turner was there, Gore has never had a good OC to play for. Coincidently, that was his best statistical season.

If Gore had been fortunate enough to play in a good offensive scheme with even an average OL, I believe he would have been one of the best backs ever. He's that talented. MJD is an excellent back and has put up fantastic FF numbers, but from what I have seen, he doesn't have the pure RB skills that Gore has.

My two cents anyway.

I would also take Gore over MJD as a GM based purely on talent. However, Gore's abusive running style, while tough on defenders, opens himself up to take a lot of bad shots. He's torn at least two acls and breaks his hip last year. The guy runs hard. In many ways Gore and MJD are similar. Both can catch, run with power, and are elusive. It's a tough call as I like Gore's style and grit but MJD is a bit more elusive.
