I have seen anywhere from 3 touches to 13 touches. ANy NO homers out there have an idea as to what he will see?

probably between 3 and 13 touches
Expected as much from a Bronco fan. Any meaningful thoughts out there?
There's really no way to determine this. If you have better options start them. As a Saints fan thats all I got.
I'd agree, not a great start here. I'd keep on the bench at least one week to see what develops and even then we're talking about the 9ers defense which could depress any offensive player's value in any week they play them. But if I had to guess:- I'd expect something like the beginning of the season when Sproles was used as a receiver out of the backfield and on the line, not very much as a runner.- The new roles of Ingram and Ivory change everything. I don't think the Saints are going back to the way things were.- The only caveat here is that Sproles did bust out for a huge catch and gain and YAC for a huge TD in the playoff game. The Saints could very well find wrinkles for him in teh gameplan and it's possible they held him out one extra week to keep the 9ers guessing.- The Saints scored more points on the 9ers in last year's playoff game than they allowed all year. Sproles was a big part of that - 15/119/1 - so it would surprise me if they don't use him extensively again, but they fell behind 14-0 last year plus had some offensive guys out so I think you'd be 100% banking on him getting another long score to have a good day where you'd be happy you started him and I'm not so sure that's likely to happen.http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201201140sfo.htm

There are too many mouths to feed in NO with the emergence of Ingram and Ivory. No way to know if it will be one of them, Sproles or Thomas or a combo that gets into the mix.

I agree. IMO somewhere close to 5 touches. Again, he will be more involved in the passing game, at least that's why I drafted him for PPR leagues.

Any word on whether he'll be back to his normal roles as a kick/punt returner?
Last week the report was they would use him on kick/punt returns but not so much in the offensive game plan. He's even healthier now and I think he will be back in the offense too. Also, major ball security concerns with Cadet returning, they want Sproles to handle those duties. He's been practicing as normal I believe, for at least a week.

So are we to believe that Sproles will actually play this week and not be another late scratch?
That I cannot promise you. I'm expecting he'll play and that they saved him up last week for this game, stay tuned as I will be... tailgating early today for the 3:00 start so I'm sure I will be listening along with everyone else. If I hear anything (before hitting the trail of beers) I will post it.One thing to take note of that has me very concerned - the Saints might be starting free agent rookie Bryce Harris at right tackle for Zach Strief and Charles Brown. While looking at the actives today you might want to see if Strief is playing as well, that might be just as big of a deal.

Aslong has he has return duties and gets his usual 5-6 receptions per game he will be locked into my flex spot in my return yardage/PPR league. He was only getting a few rush attempts per game anyways.

That being said, I would sit him this week in standard leagues.

I just don't understand the Saints insistence on using so many RBs. Last year Sproles was the bell cow getting the combined yardage record. He was unstoppable in the offense. This year they insist on keeping him on the bench and using mediocre RBs. Norv did the same damn thing in SD and barely used him. He got criticized to death last season with Sproles breaking records. Now this year he's forgotten and NO looks like a different ####tier offense. I wonder why.....

Sproles was far from the bellcow last year, and their other backs aren't mediocre. Don't base your opinion on stat lines. Watch the games.

Since it was Thanksgiving weekend, I'll give thanks for those 3 garbage time last minute catches that Sproles got making for a respectable day in PPR. But, if waiting for the last minute of a game for the bulk of your fantasy points is the play, I'll have to consider safer options (if there is anything "safe").

no payton?

Ivory is better than Pierre Thomas and Ingram at this point in their careers.

Ingram is not a good fit for this offense.

They need to use Ivory as their traditional back and use sproels more often. Sproels is their best option at RB and when he is on the field it opens more things up.

He seems to be mentioned in a lot of other rb threads...just curious who others are starting /benching him over

Ppr leagues no return yardage sitting him and Mathews for Moreno

Other league back and forth between sproles, Wilson, and s Jackson.

Same for me,

Tough deciding between Sproles/Moreno (I get small PR points) So Im leaning Sproles.

Moreno or Wilson is my other play.

Starting Sproles in two return-yardage format leagues today (25 yards/point = 1 league, 30 yards/point = the other).

In League 1, I'm running him out there alongside Spiller and benching Moreno.

In League 2, I'm starting him alongside TRich. Only minimal bench depth here in Joique Bell.

Starting Sproles because he's my best chance of scoring a touchdown .. yeah, my RBs are crap. Plus while his rushing matchup sucks, keep in mind that he isn't actually going to be rushing, and he could be in for a decent receiving day.

I actually feel worse about Sproles when he has a good matchup.Far more likely that the other RBs that don't excel in pass pro/receiving siphon his touches in those situations.Saints aren't going to be force-feeding Ingram the ball against the Bucs.

There's going to be a lot of points scored in this game, if there's a shootout I think Sproles gets 6-7 catches, which is worth gold in PPR.
