You're not crazy. I saw the same thing. I think he deleted and re posted. Which sucks because Footballhead would have timed out by now and we could have started this thing back up again.
i had it on my blackberry it was 630 pm im going to pm bass and see if we can time footballhead out
If we have proof t8knovr re-posted his pick, even if it was the same player, we should hold him to that post time. I'm not sure if there was any funny business going on here, as I did not actually witness the first post myself, but I believe we need clarification from t8knovr as to why he deleted and re-posted later. If it was just a mistake because he does not know how to use the edit feature, oh well. But, if it was clearly an attempt to help Footballhead avoid timing out, then we should penalize both by slicing their clock in half.Either way, if we have proof, and Footballhead would have timed-out (at approx. 10:30 am EST) before he made his most recent pick, then he gets his clock cut down.

My
That's kinda stretching it a little further ....conspiracy theory kickin' in? :link: If it makes you feel alittle better, I have no idea who t8knovr is, but I sure do I owe my gratitude to him since I didn't had the time to get online for 3 days.

I did, it was right before the post saying I picked out of order. Thanks for helping with my sanity as well.

If Chaos picked at 6:07 pm and then you picked at 6:30 pm, how was that out of order? (You picked out of order a few rounds back, when you selected Holt.) I don't understand. At this point, let's just keep trying to move ahead. I'm pretty thorough about the draft threads, even though this one is not up-dated yet (it will be,) but I really don't feel like being called a Draft Cop for following the rules and attempting to impose the proper penalties. If the rest of you feel any penalties should be imposed on either t8knovr or Footballhead, please say so......otherwise, I'm dropping it.

Isn't Davenport enough of a penalty. :lmao: No harm so let's roll on.

ill just add that im not on board for that pm the next 2 guys stuff because it can cause confusion as to who exactly is up. some people get a pm and just make a pick even if they aren't up. not sure if this was what made t8knover confused but its possible. i just pm the next guy and leave it at that.

:lmao:

I have PM'd my picks to RR05.

Relative to the changing picks and time outs (sounds like kindergarten doesn't it?), I did not see anything about changing picks or when they were final (on posting or when next pick is posted for example). Would be a good rule clarification but IMHO, does seem to be questionable.

As to long delays within the alloted time specified, that is the rule. I would prefer more active drafting but if the rules allow for eight hours with an additional eight hour window, it is "legal" or whatever term you want to apply.

Two points that should be forwarded to BnB for consideration for future SSL draft rule changes.

Honestly, I am learning where value is in a 16 team draft and have PM'd a couple guys and gotten to know them better, but have also seen personalities I have no desire to interact with, not to name names or point fingers, but not all of them are drafting in the SSL4.

The value of PM'ing the next two would be moot if owners would check in every four hours or so and just look at the thread, PM predrafts if necessary.

All things considered, while this is fun to a degree, it is not turning out to be something I would do more than once an offseason.

My understanding of the rules is that once you pick, you cannot change it. I have no idea about making a pick, removing it and then selecting the same player again at a later time. First time I've ever heard of something like that happening (and I did not see it occur, just realized this morning after seeing posts questioning it.)

The 8 hour clock window and turning it off overnight are standard. Have been for a while.

If folks do not want to PM their pre-draft picks to someone else, so be it. Obviously, the pace of this draft was not on fire anyway, so I doubt that (in the grand scheme of things,) it matters much.

As for PM'ing the next two or three, it's just courtesy, not required. But hoped for and appreciated when done. If someone gets confused because they can't understand the difference between "Your up" and "Your on deck", well, maybe they need to do something about that.

its up to you of course but I would give them another shot before deciding on doing just one a year. this one is much slower that usual and has much less chatter about picks. they are usually livelier and some of that is probably because there are a few rookie drafters like yourself who are still feeling things out. of course we arent even halfway done yet...

Wow, this draft has turned into a cluster ####.

One guy not PMing so he can land the almighty Brandon Jones in the 8th, and the other guy taking 15 hours to make 2 picks.

Good times.

I was available to make my pick(s) from Friday ~6:30 p.m. until Monday 10:30 a.m. and had the opportunity to make exactly ZERO picks. That is 66 hours that I had open availability. Monday was the ONE day that I did not have internet access and could not be reached while at work. If we had made ONE more pick in those 66 hours I would have been able to make my 7.13 pick and PMed my next pick.

Don't lay crap on me.

I've dealt with a slow mock before and it don't matter to me. In an ideal world, be all be ontop of this and make timely picks. It doesn't happen. No biggie. In my ideal world, you could have PMed what you were looking to accomplish to someone who picks after you and we could have tried to hammer out another 5-8 picks. It's a slow draft. You took your time. At least you have a decent looking team. Now, if your team looked like garbage, and you took 5-8 hours to pick, I may be a little ticked.

Who knows, we might hammer out 3 rounds before midnight tomorrow.

Thanks for keeping things moving RR. I helped play that part in PDSL4 and I know it's time consuming.

I'm web-sensed out of the FBG site at work these days, so will make pick 9.05 tonight if we get that far.
