Stab in the dark sleepers week 9 (1 Viewer)

Scraping the barrel for a starter due to injuries to Ahmad,Felix, and AJ. After staring at the waiver wire for a week, I feel that these two guys could help your team in week 9.

Chris Ivory-- He finally got his feet wet last week after coming off the PUP list. He didn't do too much(6-18) but I'm sure they were protecting him and just trying to knock the rust off. Ingram is out again this weeek. People assume that New Orleans lives and dies with the pass but they actually are something like 23-0 when they rush for 120 yards or more. That tells me that they are more successful with balance. The Saints will be looking to rebound from last week as they go back home to face a big divisional foe in Tampa Bay. They are 22nd against the rush and I think New Orleans will stick with the run longer in this game. I could see a 10-50 1-2 TD type of game for Chris.

Patrick Crayton-- I'll be the first to tell you that this team and this player are pretty maddening. Rivers is just not playing well and the team generally speaking seems to sleepwalk through games until it looks like they are about to miss the playoffs. However, this game against the Pack might just be the type of statement game that San Diego needs to right the ship. Malcom Floyd is looking doubtful to play and if that's the case, I could see Crayton possibly stepping up for 6-7 catch 90 yard game. Maybe about a 40% chance of a TD.

Good luck!!

Stab in the dark sleepers? With all the injuries and byes, we're stabbing in pitch black dark. I like Crayton and I wish I could plug him in this week IF Floyd doesn't play.

I said it in another thread and I will reiterate it here...I kinda like Quizz Rodgers this week.

are u anticipating a blow out w/ garbage time? If not this is a risky pick, that fits the thread title.I think Sea Mike Williams is another especially if Tavaris plays a full game.

In a ppr, I like Helu for 10-15 points. Skins won't run but Helu will be good for 5-6 receptions and 50+ receiving yards. Shanny will want to see what he's got and Torain has already shown what he (doesn't) have.

Vincent Brown anyone?

RIvers will have to pass all day and someone has to catch the ball. Brown has the physical skills and is probably the healthiest option.

i think he's still behind Crayton in the pecking order so it wouldn't make any sense to play Vincent over Crayton.

Jason Avant, He's had pretty good games against the Bears for 2 years in a row. Hoping it becomes 3 years after Monday night.

Dezmon Briscoe? Even with Blount coming back, I figure the Bucs will have to air it out to keep up with the Saints. And he's been targeted quite a bit lately.

Tricky because of Parker and Benn there too. If NO's offense is clicking maybe all of the TB WRs will be productive in this one because TB will have to air it out.

Donald Jones (BUF) WR is back this week. S. Johnson should draw Revis Island. I think he's going to be the sleeper that everyone is going to be excited about next week.

Deep?

Ramses Barden, if he even plays.

He's a mismatch problem potentially for New England, and with no NIcks and no Bradshaw, I'm sure NE DBs will double Cruz and Mannigham and give attention to Ballard. If this big good can catch the ball, and if he suits, he could have a nice little day.

6 for 95 1 TD

I was thinking exactly this.

The Brinks Truck....Curtis Brinkley. He was a full go in practice and is set to go this week. Looked pretty darn good at the end of their last game and with Mathews likely out, Tolbert can't man the full load. Brinkley looks like he can do a little bit of everything. Something is brewing with Brinkley in dynasty leagues.

Kendall Hunter. Niners seem to give him more touches on the road for whatever reason and got a feeling he will bust one tomorrow.

Jake Ballard. With Smith out and Nicks injured, I'm playing him at W/T (no mandatory TE).

Think he could be good for 4-6 catches and a TD or two.

Obomanu - I think he takes over the starting gig even when BMW is truly healthy again - he has gamechanging speed that BMW lacks.

In part...additionally I see them taking it easy on Turner this as they save him for the stretch run and have their way here; so yes it goes back to the blowout factor. It's a shot in the dark, and maybe it ends up being for naught, but I think this week we get to see a nice game from Quizz.

Jon Baldwin anyone?
That was my thought too - especially with the match-up against MIA this week.
And apparently Vontae Davis didn't make the trip to KC which means Phins CB Sean Smith will probably cover Bowe and their backup CB Jimmy Wilson (rookie 7th rounder) will be covering Baldwin if he lines up at WR2.......but........when Baldwin lines up in the slot, he'll be covered by Phins 4th and 5h string CBs and their horrible safeties so Baldwin could easily find himself wide open this afternoon.

I'm confused - are we taking a stab at it, or are we taking a shot in the dark? Matt Cassell is my answer either way.

Picked up Ivory in all my leagues... hope for same situation as last year.

DJ Ware

Laurent Robinson

Chris Ogbonnaya ... Don't believe Silent G is a deep sleeper anymore.

I wrote about him as a possible FA pickup this week but was worried about there being too many options in Dallas. Romo seems like he is more in sync with Robinson than Austin and Bryant. Obviously those 2 receivers are receiving more attention from defenses which helps make it appear that Romo is more in sync with Robinson but it is also why I think Robinson might be a good option. I wouldn't start him over a lot of WRs and don't need him for my team but it would not surprise me to see WR2 numbers from him.I know Celek is not a dark sleeper but I really like him against the Bears this weekend to be a top 5 TE. The Bears have young safeties who have basically been told not to let anybody get past them. They play ridiculously deep which might hurt Desean Jackson but open up a lot of underneath routes if Vick chooses to take them. It also helps that Vick has rediscovered Celek the past 2 games.
