Starting hurt players (1 Viewer)

I am currently the #4 seed in my fantasy league. I will play the #5 seed in the first round of the playoffs regardless of what happens this upcoming week. So whether I win or not will not affect my wildcard game at all. My league has a short bench, and my QB is Lamar Jackson. I don’t want to drop a bench player (Perine, Akers, Sutton) to pick up a QB to play one week that won’t help me when I need it. The person I’m playing needs to win to get into the playoffs as the sixth seed, and if I beat him he will most likely miss the playoffs. Is it fine for me to keep Lamar in my starting lineup even if he sits out this week? I think I have perfectly fine justification.

I see your reasoning and you may be justified in starting LaMar. However if I were in this league, whether or not I would be affected by the outcome of your game or not I would be a bit upset.
Without going into a long drawn out discussion it just doesn't seem like a good thing to do. Fairness, competative play, respecting fellow league owners, there's a lot to go into. Just my 2 cents, good luck.

How often does this happen in your league? Are there other owners who forget to remove a bye week or injured player?

I've always taken the approach that if others in your league forget to set complete lineups, then there is no reason to punish your own team just to "do the right thing".

No IR spots in your league? Situations like this scream for there to be an IR slot or two.

I think you are in a valid situation to play Lamar and not drop anyone to pick up a QB. My only concern is actually for you in that I don't think Lamar will only be missing one week. Do you have an IR spot? This seems ideal for that. If you don't I would bring it up to the league as justification to have one because not having one is the reason you are playing with no QB this week.

That being said, because I think Lamar misses multiple weeks I would have no issue dropping Sutton for a QB. I would likely pick up Huntley so you have that spot locked up with upside guys (this is without knowing what is on the waiver wire).
