Starting the GB D this week with confidence (1 Viewer)

So, I wanted to see who else was with me. I'm starting the GB D with confidence this week as they travel to Car to take on the Panthers and Cam Newton. Prior to last week I think this position would have been a no brainer, GB vs. a rookie QB. However, given Newton's amount of success last week I'm thinking many are now gun shy. Not me. I think GB makes the rookie look like, a rookie. This isn't the Arz D. They will create more pressure w/o having to sell out with blitz and will use more complex coverage schemes to force mistakes. I expect big time points.

But

If the Panthers actually have the worst defense in the league, and the Packers are up 50 to 0 in the first half. None of the Packer starting defenders will be playing in the 2nd half. They won't care if Cam throws 3 TDs and 400 yds. They only care about winning the game.

FWIW

Including preseason stats Cam has 1 INT no fumbles in 94 pass attempts. That is a 1.06 percentage based on attempts.

Comparison wise that is better than everyone in the league last year. Brady is closest with 1.42%.

I'd put the GB Def out there every week...with the secondary, ability to accumulate sacks, and special teams with Cobb...don't you start them regardless??? I got 11 pts out of them versus New Orleans...I take that anytime

benching them is not a consideration. Newton had a great team but it was against AZ that was completely selling out vs. the run. GB>>>>>AZ defense and they'll mix it up a bit and give the rook a bunch of looks he's never seen before. No brainer.

This is what I'm hoping. Fantasy ain't reality. In fact, it's the opposite.
