OTC want a QB. Mariota or Winston? 4 per TD, 4 bonus for TDs over 50. 6 per rush TD with 6 bonus over 50. -2 for INT or fumble. 6 point bonus for 380+'yard passing game.
Mariota outscored Winston by 2 PPG in this format last year. Both added weapons. Thoughts?
Honestly, I really like them both. I took Winston last year and he was hit or miss but I feel he'll be even better this year. He has great weapons.
Mariota had a fantastic finish to the season and he has more weapons this year as well. I feel Mariota is the better overall QB but maybe not for fantasy because I think the Titans prefer to fun more. I'm not sure he's going to have as many of those multi TD games this year.
If this is a 12 team league I feel that the 7th round is a bit early. I've been seeing Mariota and Winston available in the 8th and 9th rounds in most mocks I've done unless people are taking their second QB already.
In a start-up we just completed (start 1QB) Mariota went at 6.01 and Winston (me) went at 8.01. This was before the Bucs drafted Howard and Godwin. Which other QB's are still available?
I would go with Winston rather easily based on the overall passing weapons he has and that should be their offensive philosophy based on who they acquired. I think the Titans will be more run oriented so Mariota will fall behind as far as fantasy purposes go.
I think he is more of a true pocket passer and those guys usually last longer in the league. Not a great argument but I think it's close and that's what tips the scales for me.
If MM outscored JW last season and Tenn was "exotic smashmouth", I like Marcus taking another step forward to elite level status with a true legit #1 WR.
I like JW also, so go with your gut. No wrong answer here really.
Thanks for responses. So Carr went just ahead of me at 7.7 and at that point I decided to roll the dice and move the pick for a 2018 1. Winston went 7.9 and Mariota went at 8.1 and then I went ahead and bought back in to the 8.2. Traded Tevin Coleman to Freeman owner for 8.2 and 9.8. I picked Dak at 8.2 and Ryan went at 8.3. In this format Dak was QB7 last year in PPG (19), Mariota was QB 14 (17) and Winston QB23 (16). Ryan was QB3 (23). Since I'm extremely youth oriented I wanted Dak and saw him as end of a tier. What is left is at QB is Stafford/Wentz/Cousins/Ben/Rivers. Rodgers/Luck/Wilson/Brady/Brees/Winston/Mariota/Cam/Carr all gone. I know I could have waited a bit more and possibly gotten Stafford/Wentz a little later but I really think Dak will be top 5-8 QB going forward.
