Steve Smith (1 Viewer)

I don't think he's going to have either.

Winning is catchy. That win versus SD was huge for them. As much as everyone agrees that Smith should be suspended, it still wasn't easy to do and that win almost verified that it was the right thing to do.

I think that Carolina like everyone now has a balanced attack. Delhomme looks healthy, they have two solid running backs and their offensive line looks pretty good.

Delhomme has a very good rapport with Smith and there's no reason Steve Smith isn't in your weekly top 10 when he comes back.

He's going to be huge.

Nobody jukes and slips would be tacklers like Steve Smith. Nobody.

With Delhomme back and the team playing at a good level; huge.

yeah, smith is probably gonna be pretty damn good. Delhomme looked good vs San Diego and the running game is their to support him. He also has decent receiving supporting cast now as well.

I was thinking with the addition of MM, and now the emergence of this young tight end.....that could only mean positive things for Smith, right?

Steve Smith should put up big numbers upon his return for several reasons.

1) He feels like he let his teammates down and he wants to make ammends for his actions and win the trust of his teammates. He can put that chip on his shoulder use it to motivate himself.

2) For the first time in several years, it looks like the OL along with DW and JStew will have some playmakers that will require opposing Ds to honor the run game. Steve has been doubled and tripled multiple times as the other team just needed to shut him down to control the ball and win the game. Not longer.

3) It is HUGE to have Jake back and I can tell you Jake will look for Smitty often, so he will get plenty of looks, regardless how effective the run game is.

4) Moose and DJ along with the emergence of Rosario at TE will give the opponents D some other guys to worry about as they will not be able to cover all the weapons we have on offense, which will lead to some favorable matchups for Steve that he will capitalize on.

5) Time of Possession - What you say? Last year the Panthers offense was quite one dimensional, which allowed the opponent to force many, many 3 and outs. The Panthers lost the T.O.P. battle 9 times, and many times it was very significant giving the other team's offense the ball for 35 - 40 minutes in several games. Hard to rack up stats and TDs when you are on the sidelines. The Panthers scored 267 points last year and with the new improved version, I expect that they will generate around 380 points, which would give the Panthers about an extra 7 points per game.... Steve will collect his share of those TDs once he gets back on the field. They scored 19 offensive points against SD and that was without Steve.

I think Steve will put up very good numbers when he returns. :goodposting:

:goodposting: If Smith can stay healthy he should have big numbers, and a few huge days. He can't be single covered, his route running creates too much separation. With the emergence of the other offensive weapons opposing teams will have to gameplan for them, as a D Coordinator you can't just go in with the mindset that you'll take Smith out of the game anymore.I've both had Smith, and gone up against him, many times in FF. There's no one player that scares me to go up against more. Few players are capable of multiple 80 yd TDs in the same game like Smitty.

An injury...
to another Patriot.
Just a hunch, not rooting for it or anything. In fact I think this year will be the year of the injury.
Should I post I think you and your family have a future consisting of a car crash? Even if its an honest "hunch"?No. Ill ask you to delete that kind of post HoT. Seriously.
Sure, go ahead. To think you saying that increases the odds of it happening is foolish.Oh wait, I better go knock on wood now. :lmao:
