THE NEWS

Rams running back Tony Fisher suffered an undisclosed head injury in the second quarter of Thursday's preseason game and did not return to action.

OUR VIEW

If Fisher's injury forces him to miss time, it may speed up the Rams' attempt to sign free agent Stephen Davis.

You don't sign a new RB because your current one has his first concussion of the year. Assuming it was a concussion.

Perhaps one should wait until Davis is on the Rams before picking him up for this reason.
true, but they have had him in for a workout. and in a shark league, if you have a spot, may it's worth a shot to pick up up before someone else does. Don't disagree that I'm putting the cart before the horse, but would Davis present any value backing up Jackson, if that happens...???

RB Davis To Sign With Rams?

Mike Florio, ProFootballTalk.com - [Full Article]

Free-agent RB Stephen Davis could be joining the Rams as soon as Friday. Davis previously visited the Eagles and the Rams. He was cut while injured in 2005 by the Panthers.

I honestly don't think jackson is worth handcuffing this year. if he goes down i don't see fisher or davis being a good enough every week starter to benefit you.

better off trading for someone if he gets hurt

:knock on wood:

I would think that STL signed Davis to deepen their bence behind Jackson. In the event that Jackson gets hurts I believe they will lean on Davis to carry the load, although I personally dont think he can handle it. Given the question mark that seems to loom around Sjax health, I would say handcuff but.....hold your breathe.
