Because this topic is nuts! I can't believe the hype and noise this thing is generating. I do wish someone would consolidate this all to one thread so I can ignore it. I'm tired of wading through 'Brett Favre is...' posts. The ridiculous nature of my post reflects the ridiculous nature of the obsession with Favre.

And that is a real shame. I'm trying to find a link to it, but a fan commented on ESPN today contrasting this fiasco to the way Joe Montana graciously stepped aside and went somewhere else to play. I'm sure it was a biased opinion... and this is a tough spot for GB, but I'm sorry, it's not the only news 'worthy' of discussion. There's 31 other camps going on, umpteen position battles and all those players in new homes or just joining the NFL. I'm much more interested in those stories than an overhyped QB in his twilight who single-handedly torpedoed his team's chance at glory with a typically boneheaded play that encapsulates his selfish nature (in football terms) and lack of fore-thought. Agreed. I wish it would go away, but unfortunately it won't. I understand that some people are here to just talk football while others are here to gain an edge in fantasy football. I think that's where the conflict comes, because favre is all that is going on in football, whereas fantasy footballers are more concerned about position battles and who looks good.

Favre had that news conference every year at his golf event...so no...he never scheduled an evento announce such thing.Some supposed personal assistant said there would be some scoop.
