Strength of Schedule (1 Viewer)

Bye weeks are here, injury bug just bit my roster, juggling lineup with some regularity now and wondering as I fill my roster: should strength of schedule be a key determinant in my lineup decisions? Moreover, how much are they factored into the weekly cheatsheets?

For instance, DJ Williams & Y. Bell are stud performers, but this week face teams not allowing many points for ILB or S respectively, yet, they are ranked highly.

Just wondering if a good matchup trumps a big name? Or, if it just doesn't matter all that much.

I think it matters on who you would be subbing in for a stud player, and just how good the match-up is. I find that the "never bench your studs" rule is more like a guideline on the defensive side of things. Guys like Willis, DJ and Timmons are tough to bench and I would find it very difficult to do so regardless of the matchup. Yet I have been burned in the past for keeping someone like that in my lineup when I had a better alternative. DLs and DBs fall into matchup categories much more frequently than your LBs. I wouldn't hesitate to sub in a bench DL or DB if the matchup leans towards them.
