SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
I guess I'm lucky in the sense that I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I've had a scary nightmare in my life. It seems that instead of nightmares, I tend to get stressful dreams. They are usually very vivid, seem incredibly real, and when I wake up, I don't feel rested at all.
Last night I had a doozy of one. For some reason I couldn't fall asleep. I went to bed at 10 but as midnight approached, I found myself still listening to Friends on in the background. Once midnight hits, I know I'm in for a long day the next day. So I'm sure this all played into what was coming.
The dream began for me in a city that wasn't mine. My GF and daughter called me and told me to hurry up and come home because they missed me. I was in a bar and there was a loudmouth behind me that wouldn't stop bothering everyone. I turned around and told him to be quiet. He stood up slowly and made his way over to me. Before he could say anything, I started beating the hell out of him.
It was weird because usually in my dreams, I have a tough time fighting, running or doing anything with quickness. But not this time. I beat the dude to death. That's when someone told me that I just killed the leader of the large gang that ruled the city and I better run. I ran outside and heard police sirens.
All I could think of was that I was going to go to jail for the rest of my life for murder. I had to get to the airport to get home. The rest of the dream consisted of me walking around slums, just barely avoiding both the police and gang members out looking for revenge.
When I woke up, I was in a pool of my own sweat. It was pretty disgusting.
So, I guess I got about 5 to 6 hours sleep, but it feels more like about an hour. Because I am dead tired today.
Anyone else ever have stressful dreams like this? I'd say, on average, I probably have 1 of these every two or three months. Maybe less. And sometimes they are mild. And sometimes they are very bad. Last night's was one of the worst I've had in a long time.
I'm ready for a nap.
