I don't know about you guys, but it seems a little harder to spread the money around this year. Did they add to the total roster size or starting roster size? Did they price players better this year? Maybe enough guys haven't gotten hurt yet, but I'm finding it difficult to feel confident on any roster I've spent $250 on so far to consistently get the points needed.

It's been tough coming up with a nice roster. The closest I've come so far, I liked all but my WR's. I didn't have a single stud in the top 5 of any position. I know I will change my lineup as often as I change my underwear between now and September 4th (yeah, I know, let the jokes fly now).

You wear underwear? :commando:

That was my first thought as well. Certainly no Frank Gore's this year that jumped out to me as a bargain like last year.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Tatum/KJones and BJackson/Morency will become painfully obvious by the time the submissions are due.

I agree it's going to be much tougher this year...however I think that makes it a lot more fun. The rule changes will make for a huge difference in rosters. Pretty cool if you ask me.

The only problem with that is using up 4 spots for what could be committee all year...I'd rather take a shot on one of them...but that's just me. Looks like Tatum and BJ for now.

I meant that as an either or, not a take both.

This year I'm letting a computer pick my team by having it churn on the prices on the page and various projections to make the ultimate team.

After sampling trillions of team combinations this is what it came up with:

M Vick ATL

C Frye CLE

L Tomlinson SD

S Jackson STL

B Westbrook PHI

I Hilliard TB

T Taylor OAK

B Gilmore SF

K Walter HOU

C Roby TEN

B Troupe TEN

D Thomas NE

A Becht TB

A Vinatieri IND

R Gould CHI

N Kaeding SD

S Gostkowski NE

S Graham CIN

Bears CHI

Ravens BAL

Patriots NE

Chargers SD

I'll be laughing all the way to the bank while you guys are drafting you "Good Quarterbacks" and "Good Wide Receivers" when the obvious strategy is to stock up on the best defenses, kickers, and running backs! Muhahahhahahahhahaha!

I think the contest started tough last year too, but then Barlow was shipped out of SF. That essentially allowed people to get a great situation (Gore) for real cheap.

QB - Tony Romo DAL (bye: 8) - $20

QB - Jon Kitna DET (bye: 6) - $20

RB - LaDainian Tomlinson SD (bye: 7) - $70

RB - Tatum Bell DET (bye: 6) - $21

RB - Brandon Jackson GB (bye: 7) - $15

RB - Leon Washington NYJ (bye: 10) - $14

RB - T.J. Duckett DET (bye: 6) - $2

WR - T.J. Houshmandzadeh CIN (bye: 5) - $34

WR - Arnaz Battle SF (bye: 6) - $5

WR - Joe Jurevicius CLE (bye: 7) - $4

WR - Roddy White ATL (bye: 8) - $3

WR - Amani Toomer NYG (bye: 9) - $3

WR - Patrick Crayton DAL (bye: 8) - $3

WR - Shaun McDonald DET (bye: 6) - $1

TE - Heath Miller PIT (bye: 6) - $11

TE - Bo Scaife TEN (bye: 4) - $9

PK Josh Brown SEA (bye: 8) - $2

PK Jason Hanson DET (bye: 6) - $2

PK Rob Bironas TEN (bye: 4) - $1

TD Chicago Bears CHI (bye: 9) - $8

TD Detroit Lions DET (bye: 6) - $1

TD Houston Texans HOU (bye: 10) - $1

It for the most part....maybe a tweak/switch at post time but my strategy was I wanted Lt2. I wanted Romo/Kitna who I think combined together will post solid QB numbers. I certainly had to sacrifice to do what I did........like I said, closer to post time I'll drink a few beers, take a close look to see if I like some of my flyers in the situations they are in.

I really love the format this year. I think it allows for greater strategic flexibility. I think it offers astute owners a bigger opportunity to tilt the odds in their favor.

Ok, serious post, here's my team:

RB - Cadillac Williams TB (bye: 10) - $21

RB - DeShaun Foster CAR (bye: 7) - $13

I think Washington will be that guy this season, but I don't expect him to do as well as Gore nor do I think Jones is leaving.

I have seemed to get some really good lineups together and then I look at the bye weeks and have to blow them up.

See my post right above yours. Almost all your players have bye weeks in week 4,5 or 6. That roster will probably be eliminated week 4.

I think it is really clever to post your lineup. I sure hope everyone does this.

You guys posting your lineups before the start of the season are serious tools. Really :hifive:
Any particular reason for this?
I don't think they are tools, but I am wondering why someone would want to show their team before the lineups are locked. This is a competition/contest, so why would someone show their hand to others before the games begin? If someone really likes one of the lineups shown, they can create an almost identical lineup, and just switch a kicker and wide receiver around, etc.

Perhaps the guys have no intention of actually using the lineup they are posting here... :boxing:

I finally arrived at the winning lineup today after a lot of tinkering, and barring anything too significant in the next week or so.

If that is the case, taking the time to fill out a fake lineup and post it may be even more toolish. Seriously, why show your hand or give anyone else ideas that could benifit them? Wait until lineups are locked then look for your pat on the back.

I wouldn't post my lineup here pre-season. I have nabbed a couple of sleepers from these posted entries that improved my team. I'd keep rosters under wraps until the season starts. Otherwise, you are potentially improving your opponent's chances of winning.

Perhaps because they thought you might help them by pointing out any serious flaws? Major bye week issues? Or to start discussions of players in this format?Apparently they overestimated your good will?
