Sunday injury thread (1 Viewer)

Announcers said Pierre Garcon left the game holding his arm, possibly finger injury.

Edit - certainly back now :)

Chandler Jones signaled to the sidelines after going down awkwardly. Came off under his own power. Probably nothing major. Has been out for the past several plays, though.

From Twitter:

Daniel Thomas is out for the rest of the game. Apparent concussion.

Rashad Jennings did not come out for the second half of Sunday's opener due to a leg injury.

It's believed to be a knee. The Jaguars initially announced Jennings' return as "probable," but they downgraded him to "questionable" at halftime and Maurice Jones-Drew opened the third quarter as Jacksonville's every-down back. If this is it for Jennings this game -- and we suspect it is -- Jennings will have rushed eight times for 31 yards. He caught one ball for a gain of nine.

Announcers say RG3 limping a bit after a hit, but still in the game.

Of course they were wrong about Garcon.

Now they say he's fine, nevermind.

Aaron Hernandez was limping after going to the ground awkwardly. TV guys couldn't tell if it was his knee or his ankle.

He's already back in the game though as I type.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter reporting via Twitter:

Initial diagnosis for Bills RB Fred Jackson is a sprained left lateral collateral ligament. Jackson is scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday.

Devery Henderson knocked unconscious, assuming he'll be out once he wakes up.

Headed to locker room, no obvious injuries.

Bad play for Titans. Locker down after trying to make a tackle on a runback, Nate Washington looks concussed on the other end of the play after the catch/fumble

Jake Locker can't move his left arm. Bad shoulder injury. Nate Washington is up now, too.

Locking made a twisting tackle and grabbed his left shoulder.
dumb dumb rookie mistake. i realize it's the heat of the battle but you're the franchise qb, not a friggin defensive back. you're down by 3 td's in the 4th quarter of the 1st game of the year..

Made even worse by the fact that it was ruled an incomplete pass after review

Not a rookie and all he did was make the tackle when he was the only one between the ball and the endzone.

@jwyattsports (Jim wyatt - beat writer for Titans): Locker doesn't have ice on his shoulder. Locker expects to play next week. Just a bruise.

NY Sports Med

What type of results should I expect from the treatment of a MCL/LCL Sprain/Tear?

In most cases, a period of rest followed by some rehabilitation will be successful in strengthening and stabilizing the knee joint. For minor sprains and partial tears, it may only take a week or two of rest before normal activity may be resumed. Moderate injuries may take 3 -4 weeks to heal and more severe injuries may take 6 weeks or more. When surgery is necessary, it may take months of recovery and rehabilitation before a return to sports and usual activity levels can be fully resumed. Wearing a knee brace helps to add stability to the knee joint even after recovery is achieved.
