Superbowl Dance Party (1 Viewer)

Sorry if this was already posted, just couldnt believe it...Saw this on yahoo news:http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/only-dance-heal-wounded-souls-matt-light-rob-212551396.htmlI just dont think this is how a good organization handles a loss, something seems off about this.
:shrug:I'm no fan of most things Patriots but they lost. Season over. Blowing off some steam dancing does not really seem "off" to me. Not going to change a thing from the game.

I understand that its just "business" but you want your team's players to be invested in the game. If I were a coach of a high school team where it wasnt a business, and my players went out and partied after losing the biggest game of their lives, I would think maybe they werent that personally invested in the game.

Whatever. Let them vent.

Coming from a Jets fan, they were invested in the game. They gave their all and lost. At this point, the season is over for them. Would you rather they went back to their hotel room, sulked and went to bed? It was a long season that had just ended for them (and not favorably). This reminds me of that scene in Fever Pitch, where Jimmy Fallon and his friends are in the bar/restaurant lamenting a tough lose by the Red Sox when they see some of the Red Sox players come in to have dinner - they realize that they are people just like you and I and are able to separate themselves from their work and their personal lives. I don't have any problem with it.

It's not like this happened before the game. A party like this had to be planned ahead of time, I doubt the invitations said "If we win this is on, if not find something else to do."

Sometimes, you just need to say "Screw it" and dance it out. Dance your little heart out!

Dance away the pain dear Robert! Dance!!!

Do just the Oscar winners go to the parties after the Academy Awards?

And the reality of it is, they are performers, just like the actors...nothing wrong with it.

Shows me these athletes have a healthier view of the game and their profession than we do as fans.

Fans sulk and get pissed their team didn't win (well, some fans do).

The players, while upset they lost and sure they would have liked to have won...realize the year is over. They had a very good season and can celebrate that and know that some of the guys they are celebrating with won't be around next year.

Why not go out and get lit and enjoy yourself. They have all offseason to be pissed about losing and work towards getting better.

Would you rather they get right to film study on what went wrong and be pissed off for several months?

Personally I'd be disappointed if two or three of my teammates did not commit suicide after a loss in the SB. Not any of the starters but someone of little consequence. Maybe sign a few guys to the team right before the game to sacrifice themselves to the loss gods!

I guess just me as an athlete, when I lost I wasn't in the mood to go party. Whether its wrong or not, I just expected something from myself and if I didnt do what I should have I just wouldnt be in the mood. You dont have to go kill yourself, or even celebrate a good year at some point, but 3 hours after losing the biggest game ever in your life, you would just expect a different result.

Three hours is a lifetime when there are women and dancing awaiting.

:goodposting: While some angry fans are crying, getting drunk and beating their spouses over a loss...these guys realize how lucky they are to be young, rich and have celebrity. Nothing wrong with having some fun, especially after the long pressure of an extended playoff run. That being said, you notice Welker wasn't there. I'm sure he didn't feel like partying. I feel bad for him; it wasn't the easiest catch in the world to make. Plenty of NFL receivers would have missed it. But he's expected to make it, and I doubt he'll be dancing for a while.

If I was as ripped as Gronk I'd never wear clothes.
And if I was as dumb as Gronk sounds in his interviews, I'd never talk... but when you have that much $$$, celebrity, and those muscles I suppose you dont need to talk much.

Yo soy fiesta...and yes, I would never clothe myself...I barely do around the house and subject my wife to a "Mack truck in the face" of how I went from 145/5% body fat to 160 and "a much higher percentage". I hate all things Boston, but seriously, let these guys live.
