I don't see why the NFL doesn't move it to Saturday. More people on the east coast would be able to stay up longer to watch the game and the advertising execs will only benefit. I say make it happen
Even though we football fans think Saturday would provide better ratings, I do not know if that is true. Really no way to tell. But, if Saturday nights are better, then why does the NCAA play the basketball national championship game on Monday night? Yes, the semis are played on Saturday, but they could work that out if they wanted on Thursday or Friday.
Only in America, but this should be a holiday. Let's get real people. 90+Million are watching this (plus whatever schill show comes on afterward).BTW - Saturday is a "party" day and Friday / Saturday shows get killed in ratings most times. That's why you'll often see more cutting edge shows on those nights as TV execs can say "what the hell, give it a Saturday spot - who cares if they watch." Twin Peaks comes to mind.

I would like to see it on a Saturday. But one cannot argue that is a great weekend for sports enthusiasts. UFC ppv on Saturday, SuperBowl on Sunday, I just may spend Monday looking for a new liver.
It's Super Bowl Sunday, not Super Bowl any other day of the week. Changing it would be blasphemous.
And the game is over by 10:30 on the East Coast. If you can't stay up until midnight on a school night, you're not old enough to watch football anyway.
A trillion people will watch it whether it's on a Sat or a Sun. Those with young kids are forced to leave the parties they're at at halftime to get them to bed. Getting a babysitter on SB Sunday is as easy as getting one on New Year's eve.

I like sunday myself....
