Superflex Dyno Start-Up: What's 1.1 Worth? (1 Viewer)

Not a SF guy.  But it's a SF league, so I need help.  Let's say I trade down from 1.1 to the bottom 3rd of first round or so.  What should I look for in return?  Is there a free calculator that covers this sort of thing?  Thanks.

Also not a SF guy. There are free calculators. My favorite one so far is keeptradecut.com. They croudsource their rankings by asking you to rank 3 players/picks each time you open the calculator. (You can also just rank players if you want, or view a list of values.) It has 2 separate rankings: 1 QB 0.5 PPR dynasty, and SF. When you use the calculator, it will add a value adjustment to one side to attempt to counter problems, and I think it does a pretty decent job of it. "Problems" are things such as, trading 13 guys that are barely roster-worthy being equal in value to, say, DK Metcalf. If you try that with this calculator, it will add a massive adjustment increasing the value of Metcalf, so that it looks correctly uneven.

So i did just what your looking to do back in 2019 in a SF start up. I traded my 1.1, 10th,11th,12th and next years 2nd for picks in round 2nd, 3rd, 7th,8th next years 1st. If your going to be trading out of 1.1 in a super flex i wouldnt look to move just down in round 1 but to aquire as many picks as you can in the first 8 rounds assuming this is a dynasty league. This allows you to get 2 decent qbs and load up on RBs and WRs. Find what guys you want that you think will be there in later and try and form a trade for where they will be. Iv also found that an owner in a start up is more willing to give up mid round picks if they aren't giving up their 1st.

It's hard for me to come up with something because for all my startups I always do auction.  When doing a dynasty league it is unfair to have a standard draft because you are trying to build your foundation.  Just because you pulled pick 9 really doesn't allow you to build a foundation the way you want.  An auction alleviates these issues.  I would push to change to auction.

What we have done it my leagues is do an auction for the first 10 or 15 players and then move to a snake draft for rounds 16 on.  The person with the most money left after the auction gets first pick to start the draft and so on down the line.  It allows for an added strategy on spending all your money or not.

Just an idea.

As far as your question, I like thawkprime's idea of stocking up on middle round picks.  If you are giving up the 1.01 you are giving up the elite guy anyway so drop out of round 1 and stock up on rounds 2-8 because that is where your team will be made as to whether or not you will be in the upper echelon for years at a time.

Dan Hindery has a trade value chart on FBG which is generally pretty good, though at first glance it seems like it might be undervaluing Mahomes in superflex. So you should at least try to come out ahead according to that chart.

One strategy that I've seen go well is to try to make a bunch of trade-downs and acquire a bunch of next year's rookie 1sts, still have plenty of picks in the first 7ish rounds, and draft a really young team. So you punt on year 1 & try to dominate year 3.
