A friend and I have toyed with the idea in the one league we run. Or for a future league. The only idea we came up with was to have the draft early, say by the end of July at the latest. Freeze the rosters. No changes what so ever. A week before the start of the season you have a supplemental draft similiar to the NFL using a blind bidding. Do you risk next year for the now? We have not used it so I can't say how well it would work.

yes, in a league that charges $5 per waiver wire move, after week 8 we have one free move per team, worst team goes first.
