Tyler Perry is the guy who made all those movies that had the same story line. And I think he also cross dresses in most of them.
Still clueless

Had never heard of him before last night either, Had to look him up and was a bit relieved that I wasn't missing anything at all.

Even after telling me who he was, I have never heard of any of the things he has worked on.
me too. i'd heard of a couple of the movies, but that's it.
That's pretty much everyone.

meh, if you've seen just one of his movies you have basically seen them all.

Forget about your Rats and Snakes. This is the correct Survivor zoology. It is your final 4 nealy every time.

The Fox: Sets themselves up as the person to beat.
The Bear: The "Loyal Opposition." A strong opponent chosen by the Fox because of their loyalty.
The Goat: A person who cannot win who is selected as an easy beat by the Fox and the Bear. The Goat's loyalty is insured by a guarantee of 2nd or 3rd place.
The Bunny: A person selected because of their weakness to lose at the F4. The Bunny is also selected because of their general pleasantness.

Though the Bear will probably beat the Fox in a vote, the Fox cannot attack the Bear until the end game. The game, thus, becomes a fight between the Fox and the Bear for immunity, for jury votes and for the loyalty of the other end game players.

S2 provides the most obvious example of this:
Fox = Colby, Bear = Tina, Goat = Keith, Bunny = Liz.

Once the merger vote happened, Colby Tina and Keith were three of the final four. The only question was who was going to be the Bunny, Amber, Rodger or Keith. I imagine Liz was chosen because Amber was partisan to Colby and Rodger perceived as partisan to Tina and Keith.

S1 Fox = Rich, Bear = Rudy, Goat = Sue, Bunny = Kelly.
In S1 a glitch occured. Kelly, by back scheming proved herself unworthy as a Bunny. Her challenge wins brought her into the end game against the will of the alliance. They decided on a new Bunny, Colleen (then Sean, then they were stuck with Kelly).

Definition: a bad Bunny = a RAT.

Normal Fox/Bear/Goat/Bunny play goes as follows:
F4 Bunny voted out.
F3 Fox and Bear fight it out. Winner takes the Goat. (The Fox and Bear should have been duking it out for the loyalty of the Goat all along.)
Winner of F3 or Goat's choice wins.

We all know Colby's choice of Tina was a tactical mistake. Obviously Rich's choice of Kelly was a tactical mistake

Even in alliances, you can see the makings of Fox/Bear/Goat/Bunny.
Jerri's Kids Fox = Jerri, Bear = Colby, Mitchell = Goat, Amber = Bunny. (Jerri should have seen that this alliance was doomed. She couldn't win a vote against any of them!)
Kuchas Fox = Michael, Bear = Rodger, Goat = Liz, Bunny = ? (Alicia given a fair shot despite her strength, Nick?, Tina or Amber?)
But there was a Kucha Counter alliance Fox = Jeff, Bear = Alicia, Goat = Nick.)

Obviously the key to a succesful alliance is to find a Goat. Being a Fox makes you vulnerable as you are going to be held responsible for most of the conniving and backstabbing. You need to either find someone you can beat or establish that you are clearly dominating the game and deserve to win by your skills. A good Fox will pit enemies against each other and can justify votes as removing the weak, unworthy and traitors. The best Fox will be seen as just and fair. Such a player is a LION.

The Lion is the most succesful strategy, a leader that commands loyalty and respect. Potentially, Michael could have beaten all the other players in a vote, even Rodger.

The trouble with the Lion strategy is that early on someone too strong is seen as too clear a winner, thus a threat. A good Lion must build loyalty first, then establish leadership. And leadership does not mean telling everyone what to do. It means being the person that other people turn to to make decisions.

Being a good Bear is the next best strategy but the Fox selects the Bear and usually chooses a weaker player. (The F3 challenge in mind.)

Yeah in retrospect Woo was better off if Kass won the final challenge. She would have taken him and he wouldn't have had to make that tough decision himself on who to take to the final two. Tony was able to get into his head and guilt him into staying true to Tony.

The sad part is Tony would have respected Woo and wouldn't have had hard feelings if Woo had chosen Kass. None of the jury would.
Kass would have taken Tony. So as dumb as the move was, it actually worked in his favor.
After viewing that piece I am skeptical. It's easy for her to say "I would have taken Tony and had a knock down drag out final TC" after the fact, but I don't think she would have went through with that.

She basically was saying how Woo screwed the pooch by not playing for the money and honor doesn't mean much when that kind of money is at stake. It's 1M dollars. You take out threats and who you think can beat you, period. She knew Woo had no game and she admitted Tony played a good game by controlling "minions" as she called it.

Buy saying she wanted to have a slugfest with Tony she is basically saying the same thing as Woo said, in that he wanted to go up against the best and Tony was better than Kass. I don't buy it and I believe if she had won the challenge she would have taken Woo and simply tried to destroy his game skills at the final TC. I think she would have made a case too, but I still think Woo would have won because most of those women would have simply refused to vote for Kass.

For all of you claiming Spencer or Tasha played a great game, they both only controlled maybe 2 votes. That is not playing a great game. If you've played a great game you almost always control the vote.
They were on the weakest tribe to begin with, and even after the merge lacked numbers, but they won challenges, and made moves they had to in order to make it far in the game. They played very well.

Yeah, but it is not always easy to sneak up behind a bear and give it a good rogering.

Agree. Not everyone can control votes in the game. There are different ways to play the game well without having control of voting. They survived much longer than they probably should have. That's playing a good game with the hand you were dealt IMO.

- Kass - yeah, she's a mean old lady but she played the game unlike any/many women before her. She was an antithesis of Tony. Like her or hate her, fine, but she was one of the better players this season.
Stop saying Kass is a good player, she really wasn't. She got into a good situation and still screwed it up. The tribal where she could have flushed out two idols and still helped her alliance advance would have been good game play, From that point on, going against her alliance, she pretty much became hated.

She only advanced because everyone knew she was the one to take to the end.

How the hell is that good game play. She literally had zero chance of winning against anybody.
Kass played better than many out there. Her personality wasn't going to win her any votes, but her personality also stirred things up, and she did make some moves that kept her around longer. I think there is a lot of truth in what she said to her husband about if she were a man, all of those moves she made would be considered strategic, but being a woman it made her a bi**h. I don't think Tony was likeable out there either, but his biggest advantage over Kass was having all of those idols, and having Trish in his corner.

I've always felt it would be a good strategy for two people to make a secret deal to team up but outwardly align themselves on opposite clicks. They could even have a fake falling out in front of everyone. This way both players would always know how the other side is voting and could help influence keeping the other safe from tribal. The tricky part would be communicating with each other without anyone else seeing them together.

I've always wondered why there isn't more hooking up. Rob and Amber are the only ones, as far as what CBS has decided to air. Lots of attractive young people, far away from home, not getting laid for weeks...

Meh. Always on a beach though. Humans procreated for thousands of years without indoor plumbing or soap.

Imagine a sister program called Survivor After Dark on Showtime. :moneybag:

Watched the reunion show last night.

I did think it was funny that we all hated the special idol. But after hearing them say if someone else would have found it, we probably would have loved it, I had to agree.

Kass played better than many out there.
Stop. Just stop. No she didn't. She played one of the worst games of all time. Doing absolutely nothing would be better than what she did. The only redeeming thing she did was win a crucial challenge.

From Probst about The Micronesia season:

Everything is tightly controlled, he says. "We provide tampons and condoms and that’s it."

Say what?

Well, they don’t want any "Survivor" babies, Probst says.

And while there has been speculation of "Survivor" hookups in the past, that strange infrared nighttime footage has so far shown mostly only castaway cuddling.

But that all changes in "Survivor: Micronesia."

"We have love affairs this season – plural," Probst says. The love affairs, which play a big part in the game, play out until the end of "Survivor: Micronesia" and start from almost the beginning, he says.

"From episode two they start. And it’s the most intimate footage we’ve ever had of love affairs developing and consummating in a 'Survivor" way."

(By that does he mean the partners say, "Want to know what you're playing for?" to one another first?).

"It was brilliant how we got it, how we captured it," Probst says of the footage which by all rights should have been on the internet by now. "They tried to hide, but we out-thought them and got great footage."

I think we don't see this much because just being seen as being very close to someone can cause people to send votes your way. Being in a couple is immediate grounds to send you votes. So I think if you had the option to hook up you would need to keep it from everyone.

Kass played better than many out there.
Stop. Just stop. No she didn't.
Yes, she did.
i thought she played a decent game. obviously she has many flaws. But she played better them most out there and pretty much guaranteed her spot in a future season i would say.
All of them have flaws, and I think Tony was just as villainous out there as Kass. I liked that Kass was unflappable, and she easily was able to frazzle Tony. She laughed at herself a lot out there after some of the things she would say and do. She clearly had fun playing her role as Survivor Kass.

i bet the producers told her to play(and drive home) that role too.

It seemed pretty natural for her. lol

LOL yea i dont think she needed to do much acting.

Other then throwing away her chance of winning when there were 11 players left what did Kass do? She wasn't part of the LJ and Jafra blindsides. She had zero social game. Being a #######,flipping off other players, just being part of majority numbers and getting edit time doesn't make you a good player.

Man I disagree with this bigtime.

She got out of an alliance where she was DOA and into an alliance where she at least had a case against everyone except Tony. Then engineered reaching the final two with the one person she had the best chance against only to find he was too stupid to take her.

And the vote they took at Ponderosa was 5-4 in favor of Woo over Kass, so she would have had a shot going into final tribal too.

I think you would have a hard time making this case. I feel she stood much better at part of the dominant suballiance in the dominant alliance, for a variety of reasons. Obviously, the gameplay changes a lot, and it's impossible to know where she'd stand episode by episode, but I think there's a number of very simple narratives where she comes out of that looking like a very strong title contender.

That's total BS. All she needed to do was placate Sarah for 1 vote and then the Brains tribe runs the game. Their merged tribe was an alliance of 3 and 3 singles. So, she went from a potential position of power in the dominant alliance to a hated player that was everyone's pick to take to the end.

All she needed to do was placate Sarah for 1 vote and then the Brains tribe runs the game.
With Kass at the bottom of the alliance of six -- and the two most popular players in the game ahead of her.
Complete nonsense.

The three brains were at the top of that alliance, and it was only Kass's subsequent moves that destroyed her popularity with the jury while raising Spence and Tasha's. At the time of that vote, Kass was one of the top three in the game, with the order yet to be hashed out.

Really? The bottom of that alliance was obviously Jeremiah, as it was he or Alexis out at the only tribal they went to. Plus, Morgan, Jeremiah and Sarah were all lacking any alliance members from before the swap. Hell, just prior to the swap it was Kass and Tasha deciding Spencer's fate. Any claim that Kass was at the bottom of that alliance is BS.

Agreed. Things change too much to worry so much where you are at 10 or 11 left anyway. Plenty of ways to still maneuver into a better place, especially with the cast they had. And no way she could be assured of anything better than the bottom of the new alliance instead of the bottom of the old one.

Kass just made moves for the sake of making moves, no logic behind them, then criticized others for the same.

I've heard some insider info that the next Survivor cast will feature former Braves closer John Rocker and his girlfriend Julie, a former Ms. Texas Pete hot sauce model. They are leaving for Nicaragua today to start filming. I can't imagine that Rocker will stick around too long, as he seems to have a natural propensity for offending other people. It should be some good entertainment.

Best move for him would be to tell everyone he sells insurance and hope no one recognizes him.
