Survivor Week 2 (1 Viewer)

Last week I mentioned that the early weeks are treacherous waters to navigate and week one solidified those sentiments. Kansas City, Cleveland, and NYG knocked out 1/3 of my league. I warned you about divisional games! This week's schedule seems a little easier on the eyes.

Used:

San Diego

Serious Considerations:

NYJ v Jacksonville -- MJD looked pretty good but this team looks like a one trick pony and that's just not going to be good enough here. Looking at the Jets schedule, I'm not seeing too many gimmees this year so this might be a decent time to use them. The only problem with this choice is that I expect it to be a low scoring, grind it out affair where a few plays may decide it late making it dangerous.

Green Bay @ Carolina -- It looked like a slam dunk but then Cam Newton came out and played pretty well. It's still a bit of a no brainer but could GB have a bit of a let down after the big Thursday game? I doubt it. It will be a popular choice for sure.

Pittsburgh v Seattle -- Hard to imagine a bigger lock this week than a very angry Steeler team playing a below average Seahawks team. My only drawback here is that Pitt has plenty of options down the road. It makes me pause...

Risky Business

Detroit v Kansas City -- Being a Detroit fan, it makes you a litte jaded and unsure to trust this team. They thoroughly outplayed Tampa but let them hang around because of dumb penalties and conservative play calling. I don't think KC is as bad as they showed which makes them a bit dangerous. I think Detroit wins but would it shock me to see KC walk into Ford Field and upset? Of course not.

Baltimore @ Tennessee -- Man, the Ravens looked good. Maybe too good for this week though. Could they let down vs a Tennessee team that really battled last week? Baltimore has some great late season matchups you might want to hang onto.

NYG v St. Louis -- I only put the Elis on here because St. Louis will be without SJax, Amendola, and possibly Bradford. Trusting the Giants is like believing the "No new taxes" phrase. You want to, but you know better.

Week 2 pick: Going against the grain with what I hope to be a value pick, Detroit. When was the last time Vegas had the Lions listed as an 8 point favorite? They are buying in and so am I.

Early weeks I like to take teams that I know are good teams, and I shy away from the hot new teams til they prove they won't hiccup against teams they should beat. Hence I think the Steelers are the team to take here.
