Wow. I have no ink on me. So, when I see something that detailed and intricate I have no reference regarding the time involved. How long was the session?Okay, last photo until my second session at the end of July.
Session 2 of 3 in the books. The backside and inside of the upper arm is pretty darn painful.
Also, I imagine not too many guys have red/pink cherry blossoms tattooed on their bodies - but I’m comfortable with it! Only one of seven flowers inked at this point though. Focus of this session was the black wind bars, a Japanese background design
Session 2 of 3
About the same as last time - one hour drawing and prep and six hours under the needle (with an occasional break).
Stupid question maybe, but when you are under the needle for that long is it just a test of your pain tolerance or at some point do you find it just doesn't hurt as bad?
This time since he was coloring in a lot of black bars, he used numbing cream on certain areas, which would eventually wear off. So it ranged from not being able to feel much of anything at times, to feeling a whole lot of pain at others. And when it hurts, it really is about just grinning bearing the pain. If I had gone au natural throughout, I’m not sure I would have made it the whole six hours because coloring in large patches of skin is way more consistently painful than drawing a design.
