TE Campbell out for N.O. in week 2 (1 Viewer)

N.O. just listed Campbell out again for week 2

Johnson saw plenty of looks and had a nice game last week vs. a pretty solid Indy D.

What's the Shark Pools view on whether or not he continues to remain a top target for Brees?

Considering the comparisons brought on by Brees to Gates in SD, I'd say Johnson has potential to be a top 10 TE this year, and maybe even a top 5 for the week again.

If Campbell can't get healthy and get on the field, Johnson may keep him off the field the way he's playing. Lots of targets, no drops that I saw last week and he took at least 2 monster hits and bounced right back up and trotted off the field...

those picking up EJ will be cutting him in 2 weeks after they realize EJ only got the looks cause they took everything away deep. I don't think Payton will be so unprepared as to allow for the 3 yard check down to the TE.

I'm not so sure about that. I think the guy will take a lot short passes over the middle. Hard catches that could get a guy like Bush crushed.

Perhaps, but he didn't cost much, and when you're TE deficient you're usually playing match-ups anyway. The Saints will be facing the same Cover 2 and looking to take away the long ball. Payton had better get his head out of his ### and pound Duece, but even still I suspect there will be plenty of underneath looks for EJ this week.

The Saints may have beter down field luck this week, but EJ still seems a solid option to me.

I'd play him in favor of Vernon Davis, until VD can show some production.

I think Brees will still be hesitant to look long all game, and leaves a nice chance for EJ t orepeat his performance of week 1

Since the Colts had success taking away the deep pass, don't you think other teams will copy that and therefore make repeating this performance more likely?

I'd actually downgrade him. The idea that he gets invovled in more blocking downs and scenarios would concern me, as opposed to being free.

It actually buoys Bush slightly, as a more attractive safety valve option incase Colston and Henderson have forgotten the art of getting open.

I think last week was an abberation

LOL. EJ gets looks because he can catch and Brees loves throwing to the TE. FYI other than Colston, the WR's are below average.

Last week was way more than I expected but I would guess 4-6 catches this week. It's the Bucs by the way. N.O. will be on offense most of the game. Disclaimer: I don't own Johnson but I drafted him in the thought of hording him as a backup to Heap while Olsen sat on my rookie squad. My draft was too damn good though as I had to roster Olsen so L. Robinson could sit on the rookie squad.

I think the Saints will make an effort to run the ball more. The safeties will have to play run support some. Also, not all teams have the speed and quickness of the Colts defense. Say what you will about them being undersized but they played a swarming defense all game.
