Well I would agree with the previous poster that I do not like the trade - but I must say that I am not familair with a points only league, so I may be off. Let me ask, what does each play rank right now in your system?

Current rankings (this seasons stats)Adrian Gonzalez: 126th with 47.8 pointsMagglio Ordonez: 230th with 41 pointsJose Reyes: 283rd with 36.3 points.

Does it show their rankings/projections coming into the year?

was just offered this tradeI give Jose reyesI get magglio ordonez and adrian gonzalezi need OF help, but have texeira already at 1B. I have Hardy and Keppinger to fill in @ SSthoughts?
So you don't have room for Gonzalez at Util or DH?

yes but I dont really put much stock in yahoo projections.Original Yahoo ranks:Jose Reyes: 3rd Magglio Ordonez: 27Adrian Gonzalez: 83leaning towards doing it beause Homeruns are worth triple ( 4 for hr + 2 for rbi + 1 for run scored) what stolen bases (2) are

Yes but you realize that Reyes will get alot more SBs (probably around 70) than Mags will get HRs (probably around 30). Assuming Gonzalez is on the bench the pts come out to 70*2=140 for Reyes plus about 15*4=60 for HRs (200 total). To 30*4=120 for Mags total. This is a horrible deal for you. Yes HRs are worth more but Reyes SB quantity is much higher and Mags will probably only hit about 15-20 more HRs than him.

I dont think you are including RBI's though...139 for maggs, 100 for gonzalez vs 57 for Reyes.thank you for all the input guys. I'm in last place right now looking for answers.

IMO the difference in RBIs should be offset by the difference in Runs scored between the 2. Who would Gonzalez be replacing in your lineup? And the reason you are in last place is cuz Reyes has got off to a slow start. Dont sell low.

what do you mean? Reyes scored 119 runs last year and Maggs scored 117. Runs scored is only worth 1 point, RBIs are worth 2. Gonzalez would probably replace Jose Lopez in the utility slot or be trade bait. I know of a couple of teams that are looking for a 1Beta: btw in reality HR's are worth 7 points not 4. 4 for the hr, 2 for the rbi (driving in himself) and 1 for the run scored. assuming maggs hits about 30 and gonzalez hits about 30, plus all the rbi's, that's a lot more points than the sb totals from reyes.

I did not see RBI were 2. So lets break it down with what I believe are fair projections:Reyes: HR (15), RBI (75), R (120), SB (70) = 470Ordonez: HR (30), RBI (110), R (110), SB (0) = 450Reyes still leads.

Figuring out the deltas between the three positions being changed would probably help more than comparing Mags to Reyes, no?

Ok now add in for GonzalezHR (30) RBI (100), R (100), SB (0) = 420minus that for Jose Lopez:HR (15), RBI (70), R (80), SB (5) = 290420 - 290 = 130450 + 290 = 720 (maggs + gonzo) vs 470 (reyes)I generally hate 2 for 1s but this is looking good for the 2 side.

But what is the drop off at SS now?

just trying to figure it all out. this is my first serious ($) fantasy baseball seasonI tried offering up reyes for holliday, but wouldn't take it.

I followed your advice and didn't make the trade. Any ideas how I can get this team out of last place? Reyes and Sabathia's cold starts have taken their toll on this team.
