Team Needs Help - Dynasty Opening (1 Viewer)

I will do it for free
Free for a year or free always? LOLEven it would be free for a year we are asking for 2010 fees in full now so that we know you would be around for 2 years. 2009 Free2010 paid nowI am sure you understand we need some kind of commitment so we wouldnt be replacing the team again next year.

if this team honestly finishes last in 2009, will it get the 1.1 in the 2010 rookie draft? I don't know how a team that bad could place 7th...

Yes our league is set up to earn the 1.01 if you are last place. Oddly enough he wasnt close enough to last. I wish it had the 1.01 pick that would help sell it.

A few suggestions that i've heard or seen work in the past to attract interest:1.) Open waivers to this Team only2.) have each team give up their 3rd rd pick3.) guarantee this team 1st draft slot in 2010

Thanks for the advice. I might use one of the 3 suggestions. I am somewhat against the open Waivers thing, because the ruins other teams chances at one of the few FA's that might be available when their teams are low on players also. I would be more likely to allow the take over team the followingONE waiver pick up (free to be whatever they chose by a date specified....like May 1 perhaps)2010 guaranteed 1.01-1.03 pick (heck this team easily could earn the 1.01 without the guarantee)If they were willing to take a $20 discount in 2009.......and PIF each year after. I would of course need to run that by the league.....so if anyone is interested in that offer I would be willing to sort it out there for their opinions. Like to keep things in the beginning at a group decision....I could make a hardcore decision in April if needed, but for now it should be a concensus.Curious though...........STP-d........tell me the advantage the dropping the 3rd round picks would do? I have not heard of this one before.

Each team gives there 3rd rd pick to the new guy, allowing him to use it as a method of waivers for guys he doesn't care for... Some league members who have banked on several 3rd rd picks really don't like this, and no compensation is tough for lost picks...

I am mildly interested (at the moment) in joining the league. When will the rookie draft be; and what pick does this team have in it; rules state 2 different draft dates and positions switched (just making sure reading the rules right). Also making sure; does the league still use blind bidding & $100.00 for year; per owner for free agents?

The draft date you saw may have been last years. We usually discuss a draft date in March or April so one has not been stated exactly for 09. It is a rookie/FA 6 round draft though incase you didnt notice that. The team has 1.05 pick it is stated in the first post on this thread after the team players are listed.Yes it is still 100.00 BBID bucks for FA once the NFL season starts. Not sure what you mean by positions switched.......unless something didnt transfer correctly from the 08 site to MFLs 09 site.Let me know if this doesnt help you enough.

I saw it in the rules for the league you have 2 drafts; one for rookies other for FA:

Each year in the off season (beginning in 2008) we will hold a rookie draft for the rookies entering the rookie year.

The initial round's draft order will be in reverse order of VP's from the previous season with winning pct and then points scored being tie breakers for the first 6 draft spots. Rookie 1:07 will go to the winner of the 5th place game as this gives them a little something to play for since they lost out on the $ winnings. The other spots will go in order of how you placed in the playoffs...ie. 1st place gets 1.12 2nd place 1.11 3rd place 1.10 4th place 1.09 5th place 1.07 and 6th place 1.08 ((remember 5th place and 6th are switched so there is a reason to still try and win that 5th place spot)). The order will remain for all the rounds.

I am interested in taking over the team and just sent you a pm on my thoughts of comp package to put out there to the league. Also a history just to let you guys know

We have one rookie/FA draft together in May. Not separate ones. We have up to 6 rounds in the rookie/FA draft but some teams do not have 6 players they want to give up so they begin dropping out after round 3 or trade their picks away.
