More questions.... wanting the Fourm's thoughts.....

Tenn - Lendale White had 300 carries last season. Tenn has taken a RB in rd 2 for the last 3 years. Chris Henry and Chris Johnson in the wings. I think I still like White as the workhorse back, but anyone with some info on this situation would be nice. The Johnson pick was a semi-shocker. Not sure if he brings enough to the team to warrant an early pick. Should we still expect White to get 250+ carries?

Chicago - Benson and Forte look to the the 1-2 punch, but which will be the 1 and which the 2? I think this is an obvious RBBC situation, just not sure which will get the majority of carries.

Seattle - People seem to like Julius Jones as the #1 here, but after watching Duckett last season I really feel like he is the better back. My major concern with this situation is how much Seattle wants to look at the RB as a pass catcher. In that aspect I think JJ outshines Duckett. Should I even expect JJ to get over 50% of the carries in Seattle?

Detroit - Kevin Smith is getting the nod currently due to being the "sexy" pick. Is he really better than Bell though? I can't knock Smith too much because he was productive at Cent. Fla. However this the NFL and Smith doesn't have the best OL in front of him. Should be interesting...

Cinci - Rudi still has to be the #1 back at this point, but there are talks of bringing in SA, not to mention Perry and Irons might steal some carries. Is Rudi even worth considering at this point?

Hey Max,

First off, very cool to not just throw some players up and beg for answrs, you actually took some time to explain how you are looking at the situations. Always going to get more posts that way.

I want to point out that outside of Tennessee, who I think has a pretty decent OL, the other 4 teams all have suspect OL at best and a couple of them are actually in the very bottom of the league. I'll go team by team and share my thoughts.

1. Tennessee: I believe LenDale White will start as the workhorse but make no mistake, Chris Johnson is going to get touches. They want to run the ball, control the clock, and ware teams down. I had read recently they were bringing in Ron Dayne for talks...I think Chris Henry was a wasted pick and I don't feel they think he will work out either. Henry was supposed to be the speedy back i though, but they went with 4.25/40 Chris Johnson so I anticipate a split between White and Johnson. If you think TN is going to win 10 games, then I think LenDale White will easily clear 250 carries...if you think the Titans are going to take a step or two backwards, then I think White is a lot risker. He is going ot help close games out but if the Titans are losing, I doubt they will just run White up the middle a lot.

2. Chicago: I don't think you or anyone in redraft leagues should waste a lot of time with the Bears offense, both on the ground and their passing game. just accept that they have a terrible QB in Grossman, a suspect OL at the very best, and little talent at the skill positions especially WR. Don't reach and draft a Bear, if they are still around late then you grab Marty Booker who should catch about 70 balls by default. Neither of the RBs are going to have good seasons so just leave them be. I predict they win about 3-4 games and lovie Smith will be shown the door.

3. Seattle: A weak OL, a passing game that lacks any superstars at WR, a HC has announced this is his last season...none of it spells a recipe for success to me. If Julius Jones couldn't get it done in Dallas with all that talent around him, what makes him a good pick in Seattle where they are going to have a lot of challenges. Justin Forsett is the only RB on that roster who intrigues me.

4. Detroit: Still not a solid OL, they get another new offensive scheme...whatever wa there before Martz, Martz himself last season, and now post Martz. I pass...but if I was going to take a back I would look for Tatum Bell late.

5. Cinci: It's a mess right now. I am going to likel have to wait until camp opens before I can make a real decision on them. The OL is pretty weak, has not donw well with Steinbah leaving for Cleveland last year...just not a great situation at the moment.

MOP...awesome reply. Good call on White, however I think it ends there.Chicago still has "it". Might only be for another year or two, but Krutez, tait, garza, Williams, and Beekman? should be a soild OL on a team that wants to run the ball. Benson and Forte will combine for 350+ carries over the season. I think a healthy D unit will keep games close and the RB carries up.SEA: while having no "superstars" the team still has several very good recieving options. Don't discount Carlson as an impact player this year. I semi mnetioned before I think Duckett will be the guy to own in this backfield.Detroit: who really knows with this team. I can only hope the D has improved enough to keep the run game relivant during the second half of games. The draft day move up to get Smith at least tells me that Detroit got the guy who they think will fit the scheme.Cinci: I kind of agree here...this is a mess. I'd like to think Rudi ( a productive back for several years) can come back to semi form and rush for 900 and 8-10 TDs. However Rudi is obviously not the future. Irons and Perry might be a nice 1-2 punch if healthy
