ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have placed first baseman Mark Teixeira on the disabled list with a strained left quadriceps muscle.

Teixeira injured the leg in Friday's 9-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. He had played in a club record 507 straight games.

The Rangers also activated outfielder Brad Wilkerson off of the disabled list and recalled third baseman Travis Metcalf from Double-A Frisco.

Pitcher Kameron Loe was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma with a record of 1-6 with a 7.40 ERA. Jamey Wright, who has been on the disabled list since the start of the season, will likely take his spot in the rotation.

Damn shame too........Teix seemed to be pulling his head out of his rearend with some very nice stats. Well known as a 2nd half guy, he was turning his horrible April stats around in May & early June.
