**Texans at Jaguars**(-1.5, 44) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Is there room for a 2nd WR in the Texans' offense right now?
Kirk or no Kirk, the Texans don't look very exciting right now
Even Marks as the potential RB left standing or in line to get more touches, feels like a limited offense right now

I made the case all offseason, that people were making a mistake just assuming this was the Texans division. The Colts are 2-0, but I was mostly thinking about the Jags (and the Texans not being good) when I said that.

This Texans offense is gonna struggle again in my eyes. Its Nico Collins or bust for them, and I'm not sure Christian Kirk changes that. Jags quietly have an excellent run defense, and a solid pass rush.

I think Trevor Lawrence keeps spreading it around a lot more than Brian Thomas owners would like (especially with Thomas likely seeing a lot of Stingley) and I could see Lawrence having some success with his legs too. Texans gave up some huge rushing gains to Mayfield last week. I think Etienne stays hot against a Texans run D that looks like it is nothing special, and also hurt by the offense being unable to sustain drives.

I think the Jags win comfortably.

Texans winning in Duuuval is my stone cold lock of the week ( but I’d still take the point and the hook)

I want more than anything for Trevor to prove me wrong and show he is a winner. But until he does, my money follows what my eyes have seen…this is the type of game they consistently let us down on

Must win for the Texans. 0-3 is a death wish for a team that was often mentioned as a dark horse Super Bowl contender in 2024. I think they squeak out a W to remain relevant but have to contain Etienne.

Also of note, Houston has won 11 straight road games within their division.

Just A Feeling

I don't think The Texans offense is that good

I don't know what to think of The Jags

So...

Team That Plays Some Of Their Home Games In Jacksonville- 23

Team That Is Playing On The Road This Week- 19

Both teams 3 and out to start, Texans 2nd drive starts at midfield though. Edit: one 1st down then go backwards, missed 52 yard FG just right

As usual, dumb penalty on HOU defense on 3rd down when they had the stop for a FG. Gives JAX 1st and goal on the 1, Tuten gets the call for easy TD

Man the Texans look putrid. Slowik was bad bad, but this mess is clearly starting to eek higher and higher in the org and damning for DeMeco. He must fix this mess immediately or it's going to be a brutal offseason.

Both these offenses suck, the Texans can't even block a 4 man rush when max protecting and sending out only 2. False starting coming out of the 2 minute warning. JAX can't run the ball at all today and honestly TLaw looks like he can't run an NFL offense IMO.

These two franchises are embarrassing. Sheesh. Make no mistake, this is not about excellent defenses. Both are solid, but this is slap fighting offenses incapable of competent game plans.

Common theme for the Texans last 2 seasons is that the OL is pathetic. Caley doesn't help because nothing he schemes looks like it works. Max protect? Ok, except the TE still can't block the DE and the FB did a great job watching. Texans can't sustain any drives because there's no way a ten play drive is possible with a holding penalty, false start, or missed assignment resulting in a sack. The best we can hope for is Stroud scrambling for his life, throwing it away, and punting. This is just about as bad as the expansion season Texans offense. Hopefully the defense can score.

Let's give Caserio some grief too because his offensive line scouting SUCKS.

Literally every time I switch back from Redzone during the commercial break, I see the ref on my TV and the flag graphic calling a penalty on a Texans lineman. Unbelievable. Then another sack to kill the drive.

What are the Texans spending their cap on that they can’t afford a competent OL? Stroud and Anderson are both on rookie contracts.

Even though they were stuffed on 3rd and 1 here, Tuten looks really good to me. I used to be a huge ETN fan when he was a rookie but I don't think it will be much longer before Tuten is starting this year.

Defense mostly. Danielle Hunter and Stingley both just signed extensions. They have a lot of dead money tied up in Diggs and their former offensive lineman. Diggs, Tunsil, G Shaq Mason, & G Kenyon Green are literally $40MM in dead money.

BTj with another bad drop on 3rd and 4, similar to the one last week at the end of the game. Turned to look up field without securing the ball.

5 drops so far today for JAX pass catchers. Unlike last week I'd say only one was really well off the mark by TLaw and a "hospital ball", the other 4 were off guys hands so not his fault in those cases. This last pass to Tuten on 2nd down was way off by TLaw though

TLaw looks comically bad.

Chalked up to "miscommunication" on his last miss

Does he have a "no benching" clause in his contract.

He rilly sux!

Ryans is gone. Implosion in full commencing. Also stuck in a weird place not knowing if we fully broke Stroud before his big contract is due
