Textbooks versus iPad Learning (1 Viewer)

I just turned 50 last week and although I don't feel old, I just can't understand how the learning experience is better for school-age kids by not having a good old textbook to flip through, make notes, learn from, etc.

I get it that having the book on an iPad makes it easier to carry around but damn, I have to say, I just couldn't do it.

Ever since this virtual schooling started, I have ordered a Biology textbook and a Geometry textbook online (Abebooks.com is a great resource) because in trying to help my son with his homework and studying (he's just as unmotivated as I was at his age...), I just can't do it off off an iPad.

You can still take notes

Can still take notes, and depending on the resource, a lot of the programs still let you highlight, make notes, bookmark, etc. just like a textbook.

Different style of learning, one thing a lot of research has shown is that different people learn differently.
