The Audible - 2008 Draft RECAP - IDP LBs (1 Viewer)

Outstanding work guys! :construction:

I agree for the most part on your guys take on Lofton, Mayo, & Rivers.

Connor is just a pain in my side. I have Beason and I totally agree with Jene. What was Carolina thinking? Obviously he was taken based on value and not need. But if they move Beason outside to allow a Connor (2 down LB at best) to play MLB then they are making a huge mistake. You have your MLB of the future, don't screw with that. And for chirst sake, get R. Marshall in the starting lineup!!

I love Gooden's potential there in Baltimore. Ray will mentor him and make sure he is ready (mentally) to step on the field for Baltimore. Physically he has what it takes to be a stud.

Out of the other LBs you mentioned, I do like Bell but there is alot of LBs in Cle that he will have to weed through limiting his value. I love the potential of Hayes if he gets a shot to play weakside. Adibi is solid and should be a solid fantasy LB as he should be a 3 down player and should start from day 1. Not real high on Wheeler at all. Think he will be nothing more than a situational LB.

One LB that wasn't mentioned too much was J. Goff (NYG). I love his potential if he gets a shot to step in at MLB for the Giants. I know Pierce is there now, and signed through 2011 (I believe) but I love his potential there and he is a guy I would sign for cheap and stash on a dynasty league. 3 Years from now he could be Top 10-15 LB.....

Again, Great job guys!

I wouldn't read too deep into the Dan Connor pick, Carolina is notorious for drafting BPA, that's probably why he was their pick. I believe the internet buzz is all that really cooked up Connor's stock, I was never overly impressed and as it turns out scouts appeared to see similar things that I did. I think he's being brought in to backup and be a quality run stuffing insurance policy.

Glad to hear you guys are high on Gooden too, I'm sweating out another five picks in my rookie draft hoping he falls to me at the beginning of the 4th. He seems to be slipping under the radar because he doesn't project to see the field in 08, he's looking like a tremendous value.

I too am curious to hear your thoughts on Goff. I was very high on the kid coming into the draft and was surprised/disappointed to see him slip so far.

Thanks. We had fun doing the show as always.

I had Goff on my "Best of the Rest" list, but forgot to mention him. He's in that Spencer Larsen category for me. Could end up in a decent situation, but questionable every down player. Despite his combine performance, I don't think that Goff has the playing speed and range to fit well as a WLB so it appears he's stuck behind Pierce for the foreseeable future. Anything is possible, but I think Goff (and Stanford Keglar) are getting a little more love than they deserve. Even 2009 looks like wishful thinking assuming they get slotted where they're scouting reports suggest they should.
