That dude is hard core.

Most Audible guests like to BS around and shoot the breeze a little. But I think if you would have asked Phil if he had seen The Dark Knight yet, he would have been ticked off. I'm not even sure he would have understood the question. Why would I watch The Dark Knight? Is there football in it?

Any moment not spent thinking about or talking about football is a wasted moment for him. That attitude definitely shows up in his mag, and it's definitely a good thing if you like deep coverage of all things college football.

I was cleaning out a closet this weekend and stacked my collection of his magazines on the desk, going back to 2000. My wife asked why I would keep a 8 year old college football magazine and I said that it was not just a magazine, it's Phil Steele's magazine. She didn't understand.
