The Audible LIVE! - 5/19/11 - NFL Talk - 10pm ET (1 Viewer)

What NFL players do AJ Green and Julio Jones compare to? Can you compare AJ and Julio to Megatron? Are their situations better than when Megatron entered the NFL? Thanks. You guys rock.

Hey Sig and Cecil. Hope all is well with you and your families.

My question this week revolves around MFL position designations. Is it a foregone conclusion that Mario Williams will be designated as a LB for the 2011 season? And do you think MFL will catch up with Jeremy Mincey and designate him as a DE?

As for Williams, recently Gene Brammel listed him as a LB4. That's quite a drop from the DE1 he was before. Do you agree with this massive devaluation of Williams based on his shift to the LB designation?

Thanks as always for your time and expertise.

Dynasty Greg

Question for Sig. Almost 1 month out of the draft - would you make any changes to your Bloom 100, move anyone up, or anyone down and Cecil, are there any players you like a lot more, or less or have changed your opinion on?

Thanks for the great show as always.

I don't think that players drafted outside of the first three rounds are really considered busts if they don't stick in the NFL. What percentage of these elite NFL prospects don't make it due to not being able to withstand the level of physical competition day in and day out. In other words they can't take the mental aspect of being physically beaten. You would think that most of these players are used to being "the man" and there is an adjustment period for some of these guys to the level of physicality. How do coaches and scouts scout this aspect of a player coming out of college?

Maybe you guys could reference a couple of players you thought wouldn't make it and did and vice versa.

Thanks

Hi guys, love the show.

In redraft leagues how much of an impact does the lockout have on rookies draft rankings? They have already lost valuable time and in my opinion should be downgraded significantly. And which skill position is hurt the most by the lack of training camps, OTA's and so on?

Thanks

Hey guys love the show.

Given the production WRs like Hines Ward, Donald Driver, Derrick Mason have given to dynasty teams, ie a relatively cheap to acquire WR2 for a potential title run. Any idea, which current WRs may mature along the same glidepath? What conditions are required for a WR to fit this profile? Likely a technician, possession type WR, who is fanatical about keeping themselves in the best condition possible.

It looks like Randy Moss may have hit a brick wall.

Reggie Wayne, maybe, once his WR1 days are over?

Steve Smith (CAR), on a different team?

Any predictions, or is this really the exceptional type of WR career?

Thanks!

Hello gents and greetings from the UK!!

Long time listener and recent subscriber to Football Guys in need of help!

I'm currently holding 1.04 and 1.05 in my upcoming rookie draft and am looking to bolster my skill positions, clearly the top 3 ( Green, Ingram, Jones ) are likely to be gone, who would you advise are my best options? 16 team PPR IDP dynasty league. My own feelings are leaning towards Thomas and Little, but any input is greatly appreciated! Keep up with the good work!!

Phil, Oxford, England.

Hi guys, what's up? Love the show!

Sum up the WR situation in Jacksonville, please. Does any of the Jaguars WRs besides M. Thomas have fantasy value this year? What about J.Hill or J.Dillard? You guys seemed pretty high on Dillard last year, but apparently he can't stay healthy...

Keep up the good work!!!!

Truly Yours

Hey guys, love the show! Now that some of the "draft dust" has settled, what do you really think the impact of Ryan Williams and Julio Jones will be on Beanie Wells and Roddy White for dynasty purposes?

I'm hearing great things about Wells in his recent workouts, could the draft move have been the kick in the pants he needed?

Considering that KC ignored RB at the draft and Thomas Jones has seen better days, does this hint to a bigger workload for Charles next season?

Hey Guys,

I'm in a 16 PPR keeper league and really need help at WR (Garcon, Amendola and Malcom Floyd). The league is full of non-trading SOB owners and there's no better deal out there than the following offer:

I trade him Cedric Benson/Bernard Scott.

He trades me one (1) of Percy Harvin, Michael Crabtree, Steve Smith (NYG) or Louis Murphy (OAK)

I've already got Foster, Jamal Charles and Mark Ingram at RB so I'm going to do the deal, it's just a matter of which WR I take. Smith's injury status scares me and I usually don't trust Raiders, so it pretty much comes down to Harvin vs. Crabtree. Do you like either one more than the other for this season? Benson, Scott, Harvin and Crabtree are all on the last year of their contracts so even though it's a keeper I only get the WR for one year.

I'm leaning towards Crabtree based on the possibility that Harbaugh makes things more efficient in SF, but if Rice doesn't come back Harvin becomes #1 (as long as his headaches allow). Either way it's Alex Smith or Christian Ponder at QB, so I'm screwed, but come on it's May: help a brother out! Somebody puts a gun to your head and you have to choose: whatcha got?

Thanks.

Hey guys,

Love the show, I listen to a bunch of these and you are by far the best out there.

Heres my question.

I would really like to hear your opinions on the guys that might make it to the second round of a 16 team ppr dynasty rookie draft. Im trying to get much younger and have acquired 5 picks 2.1, 2.5, 2.9, 2.10, and 2.14. I'd need all three main positions and have heard a lot about the qbs, but what about wide recievers? Our league really vaulues Rbs, and so I think my best vaulue will be with the Wrs. So far I like guys like: Torrey Smith, Greg Salas, Titus Young, and Vincent Brown. Thoughts? Any guys I'm missing?

WR-deficient PPR dynasty owner needs your advice!

For one, despite the lack of explosiveness in the Browns offense, is Little the no-brainer choice as the 3rd WR taken after Green & Julio in rookie only drafts?

Also, which young, unproven WRs should savy owners have on their radars for 2011? Teams with uncertain situations like those in Arizona, St Louis, Denver, NE, and Oakland who need someone to emerge come to mind.

As always,

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

Jonathan Baldwin is starting to intriuge me as a fantasy prospect, based on the way teams are likely to defend the Chiefs. I think I remember hearing that you were non-plus about his chances, but isn't he likely to get one-on-one coverage and a pretty free release off the line?

1- Bowe will certainly command the top corner, possibly double-coverage;

2- then you have the threat of Charles out-of-the-backfield;

3- plus, isn't Baldwin too big too press at the line of scrimmage? Didn't he perform pretty well in that regard during college?

4- Haley has a history of employing strong two-WR sets, right?

5- as a bonus, Bowe is a knucklehead. If he does implode at some point Baldwin is the only true WR#1 sized player on the roster.

I'm not saying I want to overpay for the guy, but once you get into that Louis Murphy/Lee Evans/Kevin Walter/Anthony Armstrong area shouldn't Baldwin be a consideration?

(Or should I consider him in that Royal/Shipley/Avant/Lammey/Bloom/Waldman range towards the end... this is redfraft)

Love the show!

Hey fellas longtime first time here

Am I crazy in thinking Virgil Green can overcome Foxy's non use of TEs and if he stays healthy become the star TE from this draft 3 years from now?

he seems to be going in the last rounds of rookie drafts if drafted at all

Whats up fellas.

I am in rebuilding mode in my dynasty league and currently have the 1.02, 1.05, 1.07, 1.11, and 2.02. I'll be keeping the 1.02, but how many of the other picks would you be willing to give up to get the 1.01? Or the 1.03? Or would you rather keep the quantity of picks and come away with a group of rookies?

Masters of the FF Universe,

I have an auction Dynasty coming up soon. IDP/PPR/Salary Cap full 61-man rosters and need some "clarity" when ranking these 2 groups of LBs and RBs. It is early in the season and I'm not sure if any of these guys re going anywhere....

LBs:

Fletcher

Paris Lenon

Farrior

Dhani Jones

Dansby

RBs:

Hillis

Turner

Gore

THanks and keep up the great work!!!

D. McNabb vs Carson Palmer?

If you had a crystal ball, where are they going to be in week 1?

Depending on where they land, what would be the outlook for these guys?

Ysatnaf Gnik

hey guys, great show. im the commissioner in a ppr dynasty with 35 man rosters. we're going into year 2 and are thinking about implementing contract years with rfa and fanchise tags. I have a pretty good understanding of how it all works with transfering and waivers. but the only thing that seems a bit weird is that each year, 35 years are going to expire. that seems like a lot of years for rookies and the few new guys you get. if you could provide some insight into how this works I'd really appreciate it. Thanks guys and keep up the great work.

Hi Guys

As we get into the 3rd or later rounds of our rookie/free agent drafts, are there forgotten players from 2010's draft that would be worth a pick. I am thinking primarily of players who may have been injured in preseason or early in the year and went on Injured Reserve that, assuming they are now healthy, may have brighter futures then the rookies currently going in the 3rd round...

Thanks as always and love the show!

If Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown don't return to the Dolphins, Kory Sheets may fit that description.

Hey Guys,

Great show as always, Wild Man was missed but y'all represented just like it was an old school dynamic duo.

One thing I heard you say several times, is that you're discounting any production from the Broncos tight ends because of what "John Fox did in Carolina."

My only problem with that is that Fox is a defensive guy, he's had next to nothing to do with the offensive side of the ball in his head coaching tenure. Now I'll grant you that he no doubt instills the basic premise into the system, which is a conservative, run heavy approach, but he doesn't script the offense, doesn't call the plays, and doesn't ask the OC to target specific positions. So your complaints about Wesley Walls' falloff have next to nothing (IMHO) to do with Fox, and everything to do with his choice of OC -- Dan Henning. The Broncos kept McCoy as OC, and while he may have to reshape the run/pass ratio a bit, I don't think you can assume for one minute that he won't, as a rule, throw to the TE because his defensive-minded head coach tells him not to.

I get what you're saying brother, but the presence of Julius Thomas and Virgil Green will cut into each's production. Just don't see either player being fantasy relevant even though they both have talent.

Matt last year you did an article called WR dumpster diving where you identified some key sleepers at WR such as Mike Williams, what players are you looking at now in the dumpsters?
